Good morning folks!

Please share this handsome fellow, even past the area he now lives.

Not every cat has "homing instincts" to get back to a previous home and territory, however, this guy might just headed back to the London road and East Area.
His little "ponch" is visible.

Let's help this family get their boy back.🥰🥰

Update, dog has been returned home!!!
Thanks everyone!!!
Thank you to the couple who originally kept her safe, and to Brenda Stratychuk, that sent me a text telling me she was sure where the pup lived.
Once again, this community came together to get a dog home safely.

Thank you to Karleigh Bunting for reaching out, after this girl walked into her in laws back yard.

Good morning!!!

If you think, in any possible way, this may be your long lost "intact" boy, then please contact our Humane Society.

In the Lakeshore/Mills area.

Thank you to Cory and her partner, for caring and feeding this poor soul. And thank you for contacting me for help.

If not claimed, he will be returning to their yard after he is vetted and nuetered.
They will be buying him a heated home, and loving him as best they can.

He is absolutely gorgeous!

Please share to anyone in the area in case he is someones lost pet.

As I wind down towards the
end of the year, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank some absolutely amazing people who sacrificed their time along the way.

Without them, none of this would have been possible to reunite owners and pets.
If I miss anyone at all, please forgive me, as it has been a lot of years, and I won't remember everyone, or last names.
I will try my best.

So, to the following, thank you from the bottom of my ❤️.

To my family members;
My late niece Kristina Hamilton.
My great niece, Lily Hamilton, who designed my logo, and came with me to Point Pelee National Park to secure a dog.
Kyle Hamilton, my nephew, who helped me in Rondeau, and other times, moving traps.

Maria Bucci (so many adventures)
Mary Morneau
Marianne Ducharme
Dana, Krista, Marguerite and Madison, the Kenzo bunch, that never stopped for a little dog.
Aaron Levy, you are a gem!
Elaine!! Thank you for not only coming twice to Kinkardine to move one of my sensor traps, but also the dog in Courtright!🥰

To Katie Fuller at the Fox and Hound, that let me drop off my dogs in a heartbeat, and didn’t charge me, because she knew I never charged others...Thank you!
Becky Kyle and Michelle Denomme Layton, on the dumped dogs in Huron county, not only having to cart sooo much equipment, soooo far, more than once, but both of you keeping the dog calm at 6 in the morning.

Kelly Halle, such a selfless man who drove through a snowstorm 3 times with me, to bring a dog to the HS that kept us going all night!
We finally got her there at 5 in the morning!
Then in the spring, I had to go out and repair that lawn.

Dave Hornblower, who has helped me on numerous occasions, including a LOT of out of town cases, and the drone captain.
My neighbours, Karen and Daniel, always ready to help me get traps in and out of my van.
Jackie Klompstra, and her cousin Leah Klompstra, for her help with the puppy in Courtright, and another.

To Shannon Jacques, that helped me with a sick coyote.
Nicole King, who always answered when called, and said yes, bring them in.
To Becky Knight and her partner, that came out more than once.
Brenda Stratychuk, keeping me utd.
Rebecca Horner, helping with delivering fliers and baiting traps recently.

Nora Matthews, who not only found a dog, but helped me deliver 500 or more fliers on little Suzie Q.
To my colleagues, sometimes just to vent, Lynn, Mary, Rhonda, Laura.
Beth, who helped with the little bully, who found his new home within a week.

My cousin Marlene Masaad in NS that made my signs for me.
Deb McBean, that came several times, and could get a sensor trap up with me in seconds flat, and out in no time, we didn’t even talk. It was wham, bam, let’s go!

To every single owner that never stopped on their pets and were fully engaged in their recovery...you are my people!
To every single person that dropped off gas cards and monies for sometimes going 3 hours away, trust me, it was appreciated. It's an expensive hobby!
I use to be able to get 4 containers out of one chicken, now it's two!

To Jackie Q and Janice Leystra!
Janice helped me secure a roaming dog in the city, Jackie, for lending me a trap in a pinch!

To Gabby Robbins, who would drop anything on a dime to help, including helping me make 40 neon posters a couple of weeks ago, that sadly were never picked up, or hung, which is the NUMBER ONE way to get sightings of a missing dog.

To everyone that shared a post on a missing pet, then shared the education of what to do in situations.

Before I hang it up, I will try and make another list on do's and don'ts, since somehow mine disappeared.

To Susan D'Andrea
Susan McCualey and Susan Arends!
Three amazing women!

To any stranger on the street that I grabbed in a quick hurry to move a trap, thank you!
And trust me, there were more than a few!

To Tricia Conway, who has not only helped hang posters, but move traps, and learned not to look!

To Brandi Lowe, who jumped on board big time, with a little dog that had a jug stuck on her head, and is living her best life with a family in the Bluepoint area, that also went out non stop!

Now, let me be totally honest and share my soul.
I have been accused of a lot of things, go ahead, I have broad shoulders, but on a personal note, I was always teased as a kid, I am not that pretty little girl, so trust me, being accused of being narcissistic, is so far from the truth, its funny.
I know what works, and that isn't having a hundred boots on the ground.
There is a difference of having confidence and knowledge, and being “narcissistic”.

It's getting in and out, no muss or fuss, keeping areas quiet and allowing a scared dog to feel invisible and comfortable.
It's about knowing about the personality of a pet, and acting accordingly.
It’s about gathering all the information, including how they were lost in the 1st place, it’s about listening!

People can post guidelines all they want, they can copy and paste, something they see on the internet, but that's just it, its a FB meme.
Every case is different, every pet is different.

Personalities play a HUGE roll in what your pet will do, so yelling and screaming at a cat, especially a shy cat can be so detrimental in getting them home.
Please think before you post such crazy ideas.
FB is a tool, and only a tool to spread awareness, yes, shares may get a sighting of your pet, maybe, but its your hard work as a pet parent that counts.

Marion Lafonde, thank you for being you!
To all my followers, that shared posts, gained knowledge, then shared it to others, thank you!

To those who recently accused me of taking money, laughable!!!
I have gone through my savings doing this, and every single penny ever given to me, went right back into getting more pets home...PERIOD!
If you only followed me around for the last nine years, you would know that!
Every bottle of scent I make up, use to cost about $6.00, now it’s almost $10.00.

To every single homeowner that allowed traps and cameras and became involved, thank you!

This was a TEAM effort from all of you!!!
Every single one of you!!
If I missed anyone along the way, my apologies, this has been nine years of tracking and trapping.
With that being said, I am going to leave you with some of my quotes, that have come to my head over these years. And all hold true!

Be proactive, not inactive!!!
Your pet would not leave you out there, you are their world!

A dog has 4 legs, you have two, you will NEVER win the race, DON’T CHASE THEM!

This isn't about YOU, it's about your missing cat or dog.

Once again, if I have missed thanking anyone, please forgive me, it wasn't on purpose.
Please don't give up on your pet, they count ON YOU to do the right thing!
To all the pets I didn't get back, I am so very sorry, I tried my absolute best and I remember all of you.
To all the ones I did, thank you for keeping yourself safe.

Folks, I just posted this little one was secured.
Unfortunately, when I went over early this morning, it was a different kitty.

That being said, other cats in the "hood" will disperse your cat to another block, so the search is still on for this little fur baby.

In the area of Walnut (especially), and Wellington, Kathleen, Sycamore.

Please kerp sharing so we can get this "fugitive" back.

Thank you.

Please, please share in the Corunna area!!This family is devastated that their pet has gotten out the door, thank you!

At the end of this year, I will be hanging everything up.
At the end of this month, please do not contact me about missing cats.

Somehow, a lot of people thought I should pay for everything out of my pocket, so, on that note, I want to sincerely thank anyone and everyone that has donated gas cards, food , etc. it all went back into rescuing more pets.

Please do me a favour, and share this post.

Maybe, just maybe, I can actually get some gardening done!

At the end of this year, I will also sell my traps and equipment.

Thank you everyone that put your trust in me to get your pet back home.

So folks, I wish this rescue well.
They have decided to do this own their own, and that is their prerogative.

I have screen shot all conversations, please don't text me on this dog.
Hopefully, she stays safe.

I am editing this post, so people understand, what tracking/trapping actually is and how it works.
And WHY you act accordingly!!!

1st of all, you NEVER, EVER , POST, where a dog is!!! EVER!!!!

Why?? Because, a scared dog only has to SMELL, the slightest changes, HEAR the slightest changes, SEE the slightest changes and the dog moves off.

This is NEVER about ego, this is SCIENCE, and allowing that dog to be INVISIBLE , means the dog feels SAFE, and SETTLES into an area.

Now, I will tell you that I met with the foster, and asked her to tell me how the accident happened, and tell me absolutely EVERYTHING she knew about the dog.
Every single puzzle piece is IMPORTANT to put those pieces of Melanie's story, back together.

I will also tell you that I trespassed onto property because I had to make a split decision ASAP when I saw her last Saturday.
As soon as I did see her, I called Taryn, and the foster.
I NEVER tresspass, but I made the decision to do so.
In saying that, making others aware of that area, also makes ME a sitting duck for charges.
I made Taryn aware that I PERSONALLY talked to every business along the Plank road corridor, with my card, and a COLOURED flier.
I did 100 colored fliers on my printer, Gabby Robbins was kind enough to make me 25 more.

Now, in speaking to all these businesses, I got permission to be at 3 of them, the 4th was where I was tresspassing.
The camera (which the foster was on, so could see what I could see) stopped working, and I swapped out brands, sent the foster a text to let her know, so she could download the new camera...crickets.
As it turned out, after having to but new batteries, the camera, though only a couple of years old, died.
I EXPLAINED to every single business how important it was, if any staff member was to see her, to immediately turn their back to her, and walk in the other direction. WHY? Because Melanie is in "FIGHT OR FLIGHT" mode, and posting where I saw her is the HUGEST MISTAKE!

Once again, dog search is NOT about driving around and beating the bushes!!!!
In 9 years, I have seen possibly 9 dogs while driving.
That averages one per year!
What happens when a dog comes out of a ditch, as you are driving by? If you make eye contact, and make no mistake about it, the dog see's you stop and look, that dog, in flight mode, runs for the hills!! They are ALWAYS on HIGH ALERT.
What happens when a dog settles?
They stop running, and burning calories they can't afford to lose, and Melanie is already a lean dog.

I was sent the post about not only where she was, which was posted online, but the phone number change, all good, no problem.
That also says to me, that traffic is not only going to get busier, as people go GAWK and try and see her, it also means the possibilities that she crosses the road and gets hit, and flees her "safety zone".

Tracker/trappers NEVER go into a dogs safety zone, EVER.
It also means different scents, people driving on gravel, and not following the flow of traffic , which a dog hears, then it's "ordinary", is not so ordinary anymore, it doesn't feel safe, and it moves.
People who work in the area, are NOT scanning the horizon looking for her, they know the importance of the opposite, because I talked to them all.
They are going through security footage, also knowing that at night, on camera, she will look like a coyote.
I told Taryn I pulled my cameras, for TWO reasons, it's the weekend, and those businesses have locked compounds, and I won't leave expensive cameras there for the next 4 days, with nothing to lure her to those feeding stations, and the other reason is, I have already bought at least 10 rotisserie chickens and gone through a dozen bottles of scent, each that costs me about $8.00 a bottle to make.
It adds up!

This does not include, with the help of my friend Becky Horner, delivering fliers to EVERY SINGLE MAILBOX, on Shiloh line, up Kimball, and up and down Rokeby line, the foster was to hang posters (which I brought) along every intersection that I mapped out for her.
Did I see posters out there, yes, did I see them at all the intersections, no.

Posters are the NUMBER ONE way to get sightings, not driving around, getting out of cars, bringing dogs out, and scanning the horizon on the off chance you see her.
Because every damn time you stop and get out, she may be very well watching you, and you don't even know it.

Whoever helped the foster that day, hang posters, thank you, is there enough out there? No.

Is there enough people actually putting fliers in mailboxes? No.
Not everyone is on social media, and in the country, where dogs "free roam", they may think she is someone's farm dog. And never call, BECAUSE they DON’T have a flier, and there is no poster to make the comparison and make them aware she is missing.

Driving around, thinking you are helping, isn't "cutting it".
And yet, I have been this road far, far, far too often, getting those that "care" to do the hard work of handing out fliers and posters, is like pulling teeth without novacane.

No, its not fun, but it is a necessity!
Making a couple of phone calls, is THE LAZY WAY OUT, and does nothing without actually talking to them face to face and explaining what to do, if the dog is seen.
We ALL have a life, we ALL have other things to do, but if you truly cared, any of you could have said, how can I help.
Where can I put posters, where can I flier, not where can I drive and stay in my car.

I will be here with trap ready to secure Melanie, what I won't do, is constantly pull money out of my pocket, constantly, do the work that others should be doing, and having people "think" that their idea is better, when I know it isn't.

I picked up new batteries, Everready litium which cameras take, want to take a guess what two packages of batteries cost?
16 batteries?
$72.30!!!!!
Yes, Taryn has said she will cover the cost, but how anyone thinks that a senior on a pension can go through 3 tanks of gas, 10 chickens, 12 bottles of scent, 100 coloured fliers, 9 neon posters in a span of 10 days, out of my pocket, add it up!

So? By advertising where she is/was, you have possibly put her life in danger.
If you don't agree with what works, but instead, think you know better, I cannot be a part of that thinking.

I have/ and were, 100% TRANSPARENT with Taryn, she was told where I was, who I talked to, where I had cameras set up, but was told I wasn't being transparent.
I can't stop you from doing what you want, so at this time, I will back out.
I trust science, my training, my experience, my knowledge, my intuition.

I will still be here, I will still set a trap, I will still do my best to secure her.
What I won't do, is pull more money out of my pocket.
It is NOT unusual for a dog to disappear for a week or two, then get a sighting.
Sightings will come, they always do, but it is NOT advertising where that dog felt safe.
