Meet our beautiful girl Coco! She is a fun-loving and affectionate lady, with eyes that seem to stare into your soul, and cute little legs that move faster than you’d imagine! Coco loves going for daily walks, occassionally jogs, often sprints, and continues to work on learning the word heel. I reckon that she understands the word, but has a strong will and practises ‘selective listening.’ Coco really enjoys car rides, and being with her favorite humans happens to be her most treasured thing in the world. She is eagerly waiting to become someone’s adorable house hippo, and will reward her humans with cuddles, hugs and sloppy kisses. Coco will howl sadly when seperated from her humans for too long, so would do best in a home that has plenty of time to spend showering her with the love and attention that she craves. She will also require a person who is physically strong to keep up with her when she’s ready to take you on a jog. Coco has been through a lot, so she kindly asks to be the only animal, furry or feathered, in her new home. She would also prefer to be your only baby, and requests a child free home for her new life!

If you would love to give Coco the forever family that she deserves, please fill out a Pre-adoption Questionnaire at:

Do you know me?

This approximately 5-week-old intact male kitten was found somewhere in the Armstrong area with significant injuries and was brought directly to Fairfield Emergency Animal Hospital for urgent veterinary care.

Unfortunately, the finder left before the hospital was able to gather more information about exactly where he was found, so we have very limited details about his location.

We are hoping to locate his owner or anyone who may recognize him or know where he came from.

If you have any information, please contact the Kelowna BC SPCA at [email protected].

Please share to help us find his people.

*edit: ADOPTED!*
Cleo is a sweet 9-year-old tabby point and white lady who is looking for a loving new home.

Cleo was very loved by her previous family, who adopted her in 2020 and fell in love with her right away. She has always been an indoor-only cat and lived in a quiet home as the only pet. She can be shy when meeting new people or experiencing new surroundings, but with a little time and patience, she becomes a friendly and affectionate companion.

Cleo loves being brushed, especially when treats are involved afterward! She also enjoys cozy beds, and all the comforts of home. Her slightly crossed eyes only add to her adorable charm. She has lived with a friendly dog in the past, although she has primarily been an only pet.

Cleo was surrendered because her senior adopters were no longer able to care for her. They loved her dearly and want nothing more than for her to find another wonderful home.

*Cleo recently had a large dental and had 9 teeth extracted. She is healing from this procedure but will be ready for her forever home soon*

Cleo may need a little time to settle in, but with kindness and patience, she is sure to be a wonderful companion.

The BC SPCA is honouring National Truth and Reconciliation Day by closing all its locations on Wednesday, September 30. This is in recognition of the history of residential schools in Canada and their impacts on Indigenous Peoples. The Society will also be ‘going quiet’ across all social media channels to respect and create space for Indigenous voices.

There are some milestones that really deserve to be celebrated, and Dee reaching 35 years with the Shuswap SPCA is definitely one of them.
35 years is an astounding amount of time to dedicate to saving animals. Working in animal rescue isn't always easy. We care for animals who come to us sick, injured, scared, neglected and having been through some pretty awful things. A lot of yourself goes into this work, and to continue giving that much of yourself to animals year after year for 35 years is something pretty special.
35 years adds up to a lot. It means literally thousands of animals have passed through Dee’s care over the years. Thousands of animals she personally helped save right here in our little community.
Through all of those years, Dee still comes in every day with a smile. Her gentle and patient nature has soothed and comforted more animals than the average person could even imagine. She has dedicated such a huge part of her life to helping animals when they need it most, and we are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our team.
Happy 35 years, Dee! What an amazing accomplishment. I hope you are as proud of everything you have given and accomplished over those 35 years as we are to have you on our team!
