I also want to take a moment to remind all of my amazing clients that I’ll be on vacation October 14th–27th and will be completely away from my messages, phone calls and texts during that time. 🏖️

Every pre-booked appointment around this time is so appreciated, as spaces leading up to my vacation are ❗️very limited❗️. Thank you for planning ahead and being so understanding! ❤️

I also want to give a huge thank you to all of my 🐾new clients🐾who have taken time out of their busy schedules to trust me with their pups. It genuinely means so much! 🐶

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has given me feedback and allowed me the opportunity to fine-tune certain parts of a haircut to better suit your preferences. I have a very fine attention to detail, which can sometimes mean I take a little longer than your previous groomer — but I truly believe that taking my time is part of giving your pup the best groom I can.

As I’ve adjusted to the influx of new clients, I’m also learning how to balance booking schedules around both my availability and each dog’s individual needs, so I appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility while I figure out what works best. 💚

And even if we weren’t the perfect match, I still genuinely appreciate you choosing to give me your time and trust.Every pup, every client and every bit of feedback has helped me grow. 🐾

**A Little Reminder About Grooming Appointments 🐾✂️**

One of the best questions you can ask your groomer is

⚠️“How long do you need?”⚠️

rather than “How long is it going to take?” or comparing your pup’s appointment to how long the last groomer took.

Every groom is different, and so is every dog. ❤️

If today’s appointment takes a little longer than the last one, ask yourself why that might be:

🐾 Did they go swimming and come home without being brushed?
🐾 Did they have extra playtime and pick up some new tangles?
🐾 Is their coat simply a little more difficult this time?
🐾 Did I need to answer a few calls or messages?
🐾 Did I need to stop for a quick snack?
🐾 Or maybe I’ve had a really busy week, my body is sore, and I’m still showing up to make sure your pup gets the care they deserve and fits into your busy lifestyle. ❤️

I always try my best to time appointments appropriately, but grooming is not always something that can be rushed. My priority is your dog’s comfort, safety and finished groom, not simply getting them out the door as quickly as possible.

And to all of my amazing clients who say “Take your time!”— THANK YOU. 🥹❤️ Those words mean more than you know.

Mastergroom Canada is back June 18th to 20th 2027 once again at the amazing Parkland Pavilion, Westerner Park in Red Deer, Alberta!

Three incredible days of celebrating everything we love about the grooming industry. A huge trade show, exciting grooming competitions, inspiring seminars with world-class international speakers, incredible sponsors, and most importantly, the amazing grooming community that makes Mastergroom so special.

Whether you come to learn, compete, shop, connect with old friends or make new ones, we can’t wait to bring everyone together again in 2027.
Now is the time to start planning! Start a Mastergroom piggy bank, tuck away those nail trim dollars and tips, or put away an extra couple of shihtzu $ a week. A little bit here and there between now and June can go a long way, and maybe even get the whole salon to Mastergroom!

Some anxious dogs are not afraid of grooming itself. They are worried about what might happen next.

At home, you have an opportunity no groomer can recreate--you can make small pieces of care feel familiar in the place your dog already feels safest. Using the same brush, the same quiet spot, and the same gentle order gives your dog a pattern they can begin to recognize.

That routine does not have to be perfect or complicated. It might be as simple as letting your dog see the brush, touching one easy area, offering praise, and stopping while everyone is still comfortable.

You know what helps your dog settle better than anyone. When you share that with your groomer, we can use the familiar pieces you built at home to make the appointment feel more predictable.

You do not have to erase every nervous feeling. You are helping your dog discover that care can follow a safe, understandable pattern--and that is a powerful place to begin.
