National Adoption Week has kicked off and we are a few days into the event, here at the PetSmart St. Thomas. The event runs, Monday, October 19, and runs through to October 25.

Animal Aide is proud to be a registered PetSmart Charity, and we are thrilled to be partnered with the St. Thomas location. We are all set up and ready to see everyone. Stay tuned with updated posts of those lucky enough to have already been adopted. We will be posting new faces as they attend the store.

If you are looking to adopt or know someone looking to adopt, please stop by the St. Thomas location, and be sure to say hello. Animal Aide representatives will be available to assist you with your adoption needs. We have a wide variety of kitties looking for their forever homes, and they will be featured throughout the week. We are very much looking forward to another successful event.

"Kind hearts like yours make this world a better place."

This wonderful group of individuals from the Junior Optimist Club of St. Thomas recently visited our shelter. With pride they presented our Operations Manager with $201.50 recently raised during their first initiative. This club hosted a chocolate bar fundraiser within our community.

We thank you for believing in our cause and making such a meaningful donation. Your generosity will help us continue our vital work within our community.

DOUBLE, DOUBLE, TOIL AND TROUBLE… NINE FAMILIARS FOUND THEIR FUREVER HOMES!

What a SPOOKTACULAR evening we had during the Witches Walk this past Friday!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that NINE FABULOUS FELINES found their furever homes!

🐈‍⬛ Jinx, Fripouille, Craig, Cat Stevens, Chase, Cruz, Ozzy, Jordy, and Nova!

These lucky kitties worked their magic, cast their spells, and found themselves some very special humans to love them forever!

Who says witches can't find their purrfect familiars?!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in the Witches Walk, stopped by our shelter, visited our felines, and showed their support. Your kindness helps us continue making magic happen for the cats in our care!

🎃🍬 AND THE LUCKY WINNER IS… 🍬🎃

A special congratulations to JOHN ALLEN, the winner of our Spooky Snack Sweepstakes!
Apparently, John's lucky spell hasn't worn off because he's managed to win TWO YEARS IN A ROW! Congratulations, John!

To our nine wonderful adoptive families, congratulations! May your homes be filled with endless purrs, love, and a lifetime of magical memories.

Because the real magic isn't in the spells or potions… it's in giving a homeless cat a place to call home.

NAME: Athena, female/spayed
CLASS: Domestic Medium Hair, Brown Tabby & White
AGE: 6 months old

Currently at the Pet Valu St. Thomas.

From a cardboard box in a rainstorm to the safety of rescue, beautiful little Athena has quite the story to tell.

On July 21st, Athena and her sibling arrived at Animal Aide of St. Thomas-Elgin after reportedly being found abandoned in a box at the end of someone's driveway during a rainstorm.

Two innocent little lives, left vulnerable to the elements, with no understanding of why they were there or what would happen next.

Thankfully, their story didn't end there. Someone cared enough to get them to safety, where they would receive the love, protection, and veterinary care they deserved.

Fast forward to today, and just look at this gorgeous girl!

With her luxurious fluffy coat, stunning golden eyes, precious white paws, and an absolutely irresistible little face, Athena is a beauty inside and out.

Since arriving in rescue, Athena has been given the opportunity to grow up surrounded by care and kindness. But as much as we love watching our kittens blossom, nothing compares to seeing them leave our doors in the arms of a family who will cherish them forever.

Athena is now ready for that next chapter. One filled with warm blankets, gentle hands, endless love, and the security of knowing she will never be left out in the cold again.

Could you be the happy ending this beautiful little girl has been waiting for?

Layla and Lily were officially adopted before they could even make their adoption debut!

For two tiny sisters, Layla and Lily, their story began in the parking lot of Home Hardware in Aylmer.

We don't know what their little lives were like before they were found, but we do know one thing for certain… they always had each other.

Through the uncertainty of being on their own, these two little girls had one constant source of comfort: one another.

When they arrived at Animal Aide of St. Thomas-Elgin, they didn't let their difficult beginning define them. From the very first moment, they were overflowing with love, affection and the sweetest little purrs. Despite everything, their tiny hearts were full of trust and love.

And sometimes, the right people come along before we even have the chance to introduce our precious rescues to the world!

But the most beautiful part of their story?
These two sisters, who once only had each other, will never have to face life apart. They get to grow up together, play together, cuddle together and be loved together… FUREVER!

From two little kittens found in a parking lot to two cherished family members with a lifetime of love ahead of them.
