Not your average day at work! 🦚

Last week, Dr. Jaz, Chloe, and Taylor were out on a farm performing semen testing when they were greeted by this beautiful peacock.

While they meet all kinds of animals in their work, a peacock is definitely not something they get to see every day! We couldn’t resist snapping a photo of this colourful farm visitor.

One of the many things we love about rural veterinary medicine—you never know who you’ll meet on the job! 💙

Meet Harley and Todd 🐾

Harley has been our resident clinic cat since 2012. He’s truly part of the clinic family—usually found enjoying one of his favourite quiet spots in the back of the clinic. Every once in a while, if the sun is shining just right on the scale or the chairs in the waiting area, you might catch him making a rare appearance up front to soak it in.

We’d also like to introduce our newest clinic cat, Todd. He’s still settling in, but he’s already making himself right at home. Todd reminds us a little of Cleo, our much-loved clinic cat who passed away over 10 years ago—especially because, like Cleo, he’s also a proud tripod.

You may notice Todd moving a bit differently as he explores the clinic. He’s missing a leg, so you’ll often see him confidently hobbling along, proving that three legs can get you just about anywhere! He’s doing wonderfully and adjusting beautifully to his new surroundings.

We’re also happy to share that Harley and Todd are getting along nicely so far. 🐾

We feel very lucky to have both of them as part of the clinic family, and we know many of you will enjoy seeing them on your visits. 💛

🚨🐮 Future vets in action! 🐮🚨

Last week, Dr. Jaz, Chloe, and Taylor (not pictured) jumped into a calving adventure that ended with a successful C-section delivery of this adorable little calf! ❤️

Chloe, our 4th year veterinary student who will be with us for a couple more weeks, and Taylor, our first year veterinary student who will be with us all summer, both gained hands-on experience bringing this sweet baby safely into the world.

We’re really excited to have both Chloe and Taylor learning alongside our team. Veterinary medicine is equal parts teamwork, skill, and unforgettable moments like these.

Welcome to the world, little one! 🐄✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our Producer Supper at the All Saints Ukrainian Cultural Centre. We truly appreciate the opportunity to spend an evening connecting with local producers and talking cattle herd health & vaccinations.

A big thank you to Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Canada for sponsoring much of the event, and to Tyler and Dr. Tim Nickel for the informative and engaging presentation.

We know there were many producers who would have liked to attend, and we wish we could have invited everyone. Unfortunately, we were limited on numbers and had to set criteria to narrow down the guest list. Invitations were sent to current cattle clients — meaning producers we have worked cattle for or completed a VCPR meeting with within the last two years (as of April 1).

Thank you again to everyone who came out and helped make the evening such a success. We’re grateful to work alongside such a strong local agriculture community.

Wanda’s enjoying the sunshine 🐾☀️
(Dr. Teske’s dog and official clinic helper!)

Flea & tick season is here, but with the right prevention, it’s easy to keep your pets comfortable and protected while they enjoy the outdoors.

If you have questions about what’s best for your pet, we’re always happy to chat 💬
And if you ever find a tick, the eTick app is a helpful tool for identification.

Here’s to more sunny days, wagging tails, and worry-free adventures 🐶💙

🍪💛 Sweet treats for a great cause! 💛🍪

A big thank you to Tim Hortons for the delicious Smile Cookies we enjoyed yesterday! Every bite helps support an incredible local organization—St. Paul Search and Rescue. 🙌

It was a busy day at the clinic, so we couldn’t get the whole team together for a photo—but don’t worry, everyone grabbed a cookie when they had a chance! 😄

We’ve loved seeing other local businesses joining in, supporting the cause, and enjoying some treats too! 💙
