Slaytes 1st ever trial fully in the Master ring with the big boys. I decieded we earned our way into at least "attempting" our 1st Biathlons while we're at it! This was our Biathlon Jumper With Weaves run. Wasn't perfectly clean but, were here and did better than I thought! Luckly its time + faults so still a Q! 💪🏼

BY FAR my favorite RUN & Q of this competition was this STEEPLECHASE: 2 run with my not so little princess Slayte. I didn't think our team was ready for these lines but Slayte works soooo hard proving me wrong once again... 🙏💓

The party has started!!! Let's do this! Slaytes 1st time ever running Master Standards and Biathlons! Also, Slaytes 1st competition test since last trial with offleash dog charging us in ring!

I was hesitant to post this video but decieded it may be good for some of us to see. A couple a months ago I had made a post talking about how stress is the number 1 factor slowing down our dogs. (Along with other factors, obviously) Most dogs I see running are going at under 50% of their potential. If you know Slayte, you know this is the slowest I've ever seen her run agility. This was also a few minutes after the incident so still super fresh. Although nothing bad happened and I was able to neutralize the situation before Slayte or other dog possibly made things worse handling it themselves, you can tell it was still super fresh in Slaytes mind. Slayte began refusing food and even tugging.

This re-run was super important to me regardless if we ran clean or not. This was our 1st step into building her confidence back up and trusting me not to put her in a situation we can't both handle.

Several months ago Slayte had already been charged by a large dog and bitten with 2 small puncture wounds on her leg. This may have been our slowest run ever but I'm super proud of her for still running clean and trusting me enough to follow my guidance. She could have froze completely or even tried to leave the ring making our progress to overcome it then much much slower. Good girly Slayte. Thank you for trusting me.

Slayte finally got her Advanced Agility Dog Of Canada Title!!! (AADC). Not quite how I would have wanted to earn it but I guess sometimes "s**t happens" beggers can't be choosers 🤣 Next we needs our Master Standards to finally earn our ATCHE!!! 🙌🏼

Big thank you to CaMTL for organizing another memorable competition, all the volunteers working super hard making sure everything runs smoothly and to our 2 judges (MP & FC) for coming down and judging us all!
