Is anyone missing a rat?

A good Samaritan brought this little guy to us. He was found near the Carlton Community Center.

We are closed now, and will keep him safe until someone claims him or until we find him a home. Let us know if you recognize him!

We all know them as Doctor Tompkins and our lab dog Rosie, but at the end of the day, they are just a man and his very best friend.

Today marks 15 years of friendship, of long walks after work to decompress, of guarding our lab, of beach walks and laying in the sun.

We all love our Rosie. Happy 15th birthday, Lab Dog, it's been a privilege to spend all these years with you.

It's Veterinary Receptionist week!

They are our first line of defense on a busy day, and often the last face you see before heading home. Much of what we do would not be possible without them.

Thank you Lani, Jade, Jen, Piper and Patti for everything you do!

Just like dogs, cats can get dental disease too! These are a few of the most common issues we see.

Tartar. Just like us, cats get tartar build up when they do not clean their teeth!

Gingival recession. Caused by extreme tartar buildup and advanced dental disease.

Gingivitis. Sometimes an early sign of dental disease. Cats can also have an extreme form of gingivitis called stomatitis.

FORLS or Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions. These are painful lesions similar to cavities, but will eventually eat away at the entire tooth.

We do a dental exam each time your pet is in for a physical examination, and often catch signs of dental afflictions, and most importantly, help you do something about them! Some of the most common dental issues we see in dogs are:

Broken teeth. Most often caused by your pet chewing on toys, bones or antlers that are too hard!

Infections and abscesses. These can be caused by many things, but most commonly are a result of very advanced dental disease or a broken tooth.

Tartar. Just like us, dogs get tartar build up when they do not clean their teeth!

Gingival recession. Caused by extreme tartar buildup and advanced dental disease.
