🪨 June’s Rock-Solid Surgical Adventure! 🐾

Meet June, our sweet little surgical patient today, who was apparently taught to eat rocks by someone—and it certainly wasn’t her mother! We’re sure the guilty party is already in enough trouble, so we’ll keep him anonymous. 😂

June originally swallowed two rocks and thankfully managed to pass one on her own. The second, however, refused to budge and seemed quite happy to stay! Fortunately, the wonderful Dr. Tobie Faith was able to surgically remove it through a procedure called a gastrotomy, which involves opening the stomach to retrieve the foreign object.

June did wonderfully, and you can even see Dr. Faith holding her for some post-surgery snuggles while she recovered and waited until she was ready to have her breathing tube removed. ❤️

We are incredibly lucky to have such skilled and compassionate DVMs caring for our patients!

Wishing our little rock eater a smooth recovery—and hopefully a future filled with treats that are a little easier to digest! 🐶💕

🐾 Meet Sarah! 📸

Sarah has been part of the Avenue family for seven months, and we are so lucky to have her!

A graduate of the Veterinary Assistant program at Oulton College, Sarah can be found caring for our surgical patients behind the scenes or welcoming clients and their furry family members at the front desk. She is always happy to lend a helping hand and especially loves supporting our surgical patients. She has also earned the very important title of Avenue’s resident photographer! 📷🐶🐱

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys playing video games, attending concerts and spending time with her two cats, Nellie and Power. She hopes to add a dog to her family one day—although we have a feeling working at Avenue might make that happen sooner rather than later! 😉

Please help us show Sarah some love and celebrate her first seven months with the Avenue team! ❤️

Meet Pickles, Waffles and Beans! 🥒🧇🫘

These two sisters and their brother came to Avenue for their spays and neuter—and honestly, their names sound like a pregnant woman’s midnight craving! 😂

They were the sweetest little trio, and we loved having them spend the day with us. Wishing Pickles, Waffles and Beans a smooth recovery filled with plenty of naps, cuddles and treats! 🐾❤️

If you think your cat has a UTI, give us a call right away. If these signs persist, especially in male cats, it could lead to urethral obstruction, which could be fatal.
