CLASSES
SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER @3.30pm Uptown manners class held outdoors in the Saint Uptown area for dogs who are ready to move onto training in a different environment beyond the class room. Cost is $120.00 plus hst

MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER @6.30PM. Pre agility class. A you ready to get into the foundation stages of dog agility training or even looking for some variety in your training. This class is not on the equipment but gives so many foundation behaviors that anyone would find very useful. This is a set of 8 classes. Cost is $155.00 plus hst

Sunday 18th October at 5.30pm Puppy class for pups aged 3-5 months old who have had at least 2 sets of shots. A set of 7 classes that include a theory section, an introduction to basic skills and puppy social playtime Cost is $145.00 plus hst.

Sunday 8th November at 4.15pm. Basic Obedience class . A set of 10 classes that include teaching the skills needed for focus, walking, sits, down, stay and recalls. This is then proofed to ensure that all dogs and their owners do understand what has been practised so far. Cost is $185.00 plus hhst

Registrations are now open for the new UPTOWN MANNERS CLASS starting on Saturday 5th September at 3.30pm
This class is ideal if you are looking to do training with your dog outside of the traditional training class room, recommended for anyone who has already done obedience classes with me or other trainers and they now want to give their dog exposure to other new environments.
Please note this is not a dog obedience training class for beginners, it is for dogs who are already familiar with walking, sits, downs, stays , recalls.
This set of 5 classes is a little bit of obedience for skills needed when a dog is in a city environment. then after that we move onto walking around the streets of Saint John with the dogs.
Cost of the set of 5 classes is $120.00 plus hst

Bella is in at the kennels and is having a refresher on her training skills. She is good on her foundation behaviors so yesterday we changed things up a bit and went for a exploring the saint Martins harbour afternoon.
When training any dog the skills need to be repeated in lots of new areas, if you stick to just one place your dog will do really well in that one place, but when they get to the next place there are lots of new sights and smells to distract them.
They need to learn that what they can do at home applies in other places, l do enjoy the stage of training as it also gives me a break as l get to go to different places.
The idea behind the UPTOWN MANNERS class is the same as this. The dogs learned the behaviors in the traditional class room , now they get to do them again with new distractions.

The next new Uptown Manners class starts this SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER at 3.30pm

A reminder that the full agility course if still set up so if anyone wants to hire it for their own personal use then message me . It is $30.00 per hour, this includes the hst. If you want me to be there to coach you on the equipment it is $57.50 , tax included for a hour private session.
If anyone wants to join in on the new pre-agility classes held at teh saint John indoor training building, they start on Monday September 7th at 6.30pm

Starting Saturday 5th September at 3.30pm
UPTOWN MANNERS CLASS
A set of 5 classes, cost is 120.00 plus hst

Suitable for anyone who has a good understanding of basic obedience skills and is looking to give their dogs a new experience in a different kind of environmental setting with lots of new challenges.
Typically we start each lesson with teaching the dogs a new skills that would be needed in a downtown setting and then we walk together as a group amongst the streets of the Saint John downtown area.

This is Jack who came in for his second private session (he is reactive to other dogs) yesterday. We have worked through the focus/eye contact with him and are ready to start on the walking section but the problem is that he really is not that motivated by food or toys.
So to get around this issue we decided to make it fun for him to come to his owners side, instead of just sitting in the chair and feeding him treats we added movement for him to build up his interest.

This worked for him, it changed him into a more playful dog who wanted to interact with his owner, he even decided he liked the treats after that. The treats were thrown away from him to help him move away from his owner and then when he came back the owner she would bring the treat in her hand downwards so that he always received it when his shoulder is in line next to her leg. This is the position we need him to be when they start moving together on the walks.

Fast movement might not work for every dog but for Jack who is a mix of Shepherd and Rotti which are both working dog breeds he should enjoy the chance to be able to move freely around and then naturally come back to his owner.

Our next new Pre-agility class starts on Monday 7th September at 6.30pm
A set of 8 classes that introduces dogs and their owners to many of the skills that will be needed once dogs start training on the equipment.
This is a very busy 8 lessons that cover so many different skills that are needed to make the agility journey so much more enjoyable . then after completing that, the dogs move onto the next part of the course which is the Introduction to the equipment classes.
Cost is $155.00 plus hst.

I have sent out the final reminders and confirmations for class registration.
There has been a very large amount of registrations. Just in case l have missed anyone for either the puppy class or basic obedience class then do text me on 506 663 9140.
l do know i replies to a few that where just past the age of the puppy class but i never heard back so l am trying to make sure l have not missed anyone
