🍂🐾 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧
— 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗪 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞!

Crunchy leaves, cooler temperatures and plenty of outdoor adventures make fall a great time to get outside with your dog.

But after every walk, take a minute to check those paws. Look between the toes and around the pads for:

🐾 Small cuts or scrapes
🍂 Sticks, burrs or other debris
🔍 Redness or irritation
🦶 Anything that just doesn’t look quite right

A quick check when you get home can help catch little problems before they become bigger ones.

Enjoy those fall adventures — and keep those paws happy and healthy! ❤️

🐾❤️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗠?
𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗔 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗢𝗡𝗘.

Our pets can’t always tell us when something feels different — and sometimes changes in their health can begin long before there are obvious signs.

That’s why preventative medicine and regular wellness visits matter.

Routine examinations give your veterinary team an opportunity to monitor changes over time, discuss anything you’ve noticed at home and help identify potential health concerns earlier.

🐶 From energetic puppies to faithful old friends
🐱 From curious kittens to senior cats who have perfected the art of napping

Preventative care isn’t just about today. It’s about helping them enjoy as many healthy tomorrows as possible.

🐾 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬

Rabies may not be something we think about every day, but prevention is an important part of protecting our pets, our families and our community.

In Ontario, dogs, cats and ferrets over three months of age are required to be vaccinated against rabies — even pets that live indoors. Wildlife including bats, skunks, raccoons and foxes can carry the rabies virus, which is why keeping your pet’s vaccination current is so important.

❤️ Not sure when your pet is due?
Give the Martindale Animal Clinic team a call and we can help you check.

World Rabies Day is a good reminder: protection starts with prevention.

The grey around the muzzle. A few more naps. Maybe taking the stairs a little slower than they used to.

As our pets enter their golden years, there can also be changes happening that aren’t as easy to see.
Preventative care and early detection can help identify potential health concerns sooner and give your veterinary team a clearer picture of how your pet is doing as they age.

Because those senior years deserve just as much care, attention and love as all the years that came before them. ❤️

Here’s to keeping our old friends feeling their best for as long as possible. 🐾❤️

🍂🐾 𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟!

The leaves are changing.
The air is getting cooler.
The sweaters are coming out.
And your dog has just discovered approximately 14,000 new things that need to be sniffed immediately. 😂

There’s something about fall that just makes walks a little longer, naps a little cozier and our four-legged friends a whole lot happier.

So grab the leash, find a trail and enjoy the season together. ❤️🐶

Happy Fall from all of us at Martindale Animal Clinic!

And yes… jumping into the leaf pile is absolutely encouraged. 🍁😂
