Meet the absolutely beautiful boy Ziggy! He is a 5 year old galgo/ greyhound from Spain.They are used for hunting rabbits. Unfortunately once the season ends, thousands are abandoned, killed and/ or tortured.Luckily Ziggy was turned in by his hunter to the rescue 112 Carlotta Galgos.He was fostered in Canada and I adopted by a wonderful human who adores him.
Ziggy is a delightful guy and makes for a stunning dog model.

We photographed him at Decew Falls. The Fall colour isn’t out yet but Decew is one of my favourite spots for Fall pet & people photographs. You are very Special Ziggy❤️❤️🐾

Five of my images were recognized with Bronze and Bronze with Distinction awards from the 2026 International Pet Photography Awards. I almost didn’t share it — but here’s why I’m telling you anyway.

Entering these competitions was not necessarily just about the badges. It’s about handing my work over to photographers I deeply respect and asking them to be honest with me — where the light could be better, where the composition could be tighter, where I got a little too comfortable. That kind of feedback isn’t always easy to sit with, but it’s exactly how I keep sharpening my eye — for light, for composition, for the exact moment a dog’s personality shows up in a frame.

Every session I shoot now carries a little bit of every critique I’ve ever received. So when I tell you I’m chasing the best possible image of your dog, I mean that literally — I’m holding my own work to a standard set by some of the best pet photographers in the world, not just what feels “good enough” to me on a given day.

None of this happens without the dogs and the people who trust me with an afternoon of their time. These five images exist because of you. Thank you ❤️

Yesterday I completed my Pet First Aid certification through Walks N Wags🐾

This isn’t a quick online quiz- it’s an internationally recognized, in-depth 10 hour course covering emergency care for both dogs and cats: everything from choking and wound care to heatstroke and CPR. A hands on and written test require 75% to pass. I passed, of course, with 95%🐾

As a pet photographer, I spend my sessions surrounded by dogs in all kinds of

environments. Knowing I can respond confidently if something goes wrong isn’t just professional development - it’s peace of mind for every pet parent who trusts me with their pup.
