Playoffs ‘26 ❄️⛷️ This marks the end of show season 2026, and I have to say how proud I am of every member of our show teams this year, both the Silver team and the Niagara Novice/Schooling show team.

Almost everyone tried something new - a new height, a new circuit, a new style, a new class, a new horse, a first show ever, etc. (or all of the above, if you’re Kadyn & Alice 😜) - and everyone still achieved top results.

There were certainly bumps in the road, as there always are, but everyone bounced back from their challenges and didn’t give up. Resilience is a vital skill in this sport, and all of these ladies (and geldings) are building it.

And of course, there were also lots of laughs, lots of ice cream and freezies, lots of cheering, and lots of ribbons.

Congratulations team on an extremely successful season! I can’t wait to see what 2027 has in store for us.

Inviting all of our clients and staff to join us for a private shopping party at Greenhawk Beamsville on October 26! Please let Kelly or Debbie know if you are planning to attend so we can get an estimate on numbers 😊

📣 Reminder to all parents and riders 📣

There are no lessons this week. Next week’s lesson schedule will prioritize our Niagara Novice riders to allow the horses a lighter week after Playoffs without compromising preparation for the last NNS show.

We will contact you if there are changes that affect your lesson.

➡️ The right program gives you peace of mind. ⬅️

Not because your horse is winning. Because your horse is happy, consistent, and relaxed.

The compliment I love to hear the most from boarders? “I never have to worry when I can’t make it out to the barn.”

They know the stall is well bedded, there’s always hay, and the care is real and compassionate.

They know there’s a plan for progression - one that never runs the horse or rider into the ground, mentally or physically.

You should never feel like you have to check in. Never wonder if your sessions are being handled by someone unqualified. Never feel like you don’t have a say in your own horse’s care.

The horses that thrive long term are the ones that feel confident, understood, and settled. The same thing applies to the riders and owners behind them.

That’s the standard I build my program around.

If that’s what you’re looking for, you know where to find me.

Some barns are designed to keep riders comfortable. Others are designed to develop your full potential.

And those are not always the same thing.

Developing you means sometimes saying no.

It means telling you what you need to hear - not just what you want to hear.

It means drilling the basics when you’d rather be jumping bigger.

Working on your strength when you’d rather be doing something more fun.

Making you repeat something until it’s actually consistent.

And sometimes pushing you just far enough outside your comfort zone to prove to yourself that you can handle it.

But here’s the difference: my choices for you are never based on wanting you to have an easy win or making sure you’re never disappointed. My choices are ALWAYS based on what’s in your best interest long term, and what’s going to help you develop the skills you need to be successful at the next level.

Every correction has a purpose.
Every “no” has a reason.
Every challenge is meant to make you better, stronger, and more capable.

And through all of it, my job is to help you believe in yourself.

Because confidence isn’t built by someone constantly telling you how great you are.

It’s built when you face something hard, get uncomfortable, work through it, and realize: “I can do this.”

If you just want a coach to tell you how amazing you are all the time and avoid constructive feedback, I’m probably not your trainer.

➡️ I’m going to celebrate your wins.

➡️ I’m going to believe in you.

➡️ And I’m also going to be honest about when you need more time to grow, if you/your horse need to take a step back, what you can do better, and when you need to push yourself.

Because I’m not interested in keeping you comfortable.

I’m interested in seeing you reach your potential.

Jumping higher isn’t necessarily the same as progressing; the real goal is to ride the height you’re at with consistency, balance, and confidence BEFORE moving up.

Lower fences aren’t a limitation - they’re where you build the skills that make bigger jumps feel easy.

Stop comparing heights.
Start measuring the quality and consistency of your riding.
And be patient with yourself.
Progress doesn’t always look or feel how we expect it to.
