Bentley has a hard time listening when in high states of arousal...so what do we do? We train in high states of arousal 🐾 Bentley has no idea we are even training. He just thinks we're two pals playing his favourite game together. You'll see in some cues, it's hard for him to comply...not because he's purposely giving me a hard time but because he loves the game so much. This is where I will create real reliability in his commands which will help him to listen to his mom when up against competing motivators out in his every day life.

Sonny 💙 is looking for an adopter 🐾 he is up for adoption through Travelling Tails K9 Rescue (give them a follow!)
8-9 month old Rat terrier (14lbs)
UTD on vacinnes and is neutered
No allergies and is a very healthy, fit boy. Little to no shedding.
Is social with dogs and cats (previous foster had cats he lived with)
Crate trained, potty trained, non destructive
Has excellent food drive and toy drive which makes training easy
He's an active little guy, loves to go on walks and play but is absolutely down to cuddle on the couch and watch Netflix with you anytime!
He bonds hard with his person and is very affectionate. Likes to keep his circle small.
Can do well with a home with or without dogs and if there are children, preferably children over 10 years old who will respect boundaries and take direction if/when needed.
Continued training is crucial for long term success as he loves to be physically and mentally stimulated and continued exposure/controlled socializing will benefit him to be a well mannered boy.
Rat terriers are known to have energy, high prey drive to small animals and be alert/vocal to unknown noises or strangers and Sonny is no exception to that. With a dog savy owner, honestly, he is the ultimate little dog to have. Makes a great companion or working dog prospect on a farm or if you want to dabble in agility and/or barn hunt he would absolutely love that.
He is just a puppy and deserves to find a forever home that will continue to bring out the best in him.
His adoption fee has been reduced to $600.00 and comes with free training with OCS to set him and his future adopters up for success.

You don't need hour-long training sessions.
You don't need to physically exhaust your dog before training so they're "too tired to misbehave." That's not gonna solve your problems.
And you don't need to spend your entire day drilling obedience.
A little bit of purposeful training, done consistently, goes a LONG way.
10–15 minutes of focused work every day can build better habits, improve communication, strengthen your relationship, and create a dog that understands what is expected of them.
Training can happen in your living room.
On your walk.
Before dinner.
While you're waiting for coffee to heat up.
It's not always about how much you train.
It's about how consistently you train.
I'd rather see someone train their dog for 15 minutes every day than spend two hours training once a week and do nothing in between.
Small efforts. Repeated consistently. Big results.

Sonny can be a little weird around kids so we are working on that. I got the real dog whisperer, my little cousin Enzo, to work some of his magic. He is fantastic with all the dogs. Today even got Sonny to play fetch with him. Sonny is making big strides 💪🏽
