🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from Optimal Canine Solutions! 🦃

This Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express how grateful I am for everyone who has supported OCS, recommended my services, and trusted me with their dogs.

Dog training is about more than teaching commands. It's about helping owners navigate challenges, build better relationships with their dogs, and create lasting results. Being trusted to play a role in that process is something I never take for granted.

Whether you've worked with me, referred a friend, shared a post, or supported my business in any way, thank you. Your trust and support mean more than you know, and they're a big part of what allows OCS to continue growing.

From my dogs and me to you and yours, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, good company, and plenty of time with the ones who matter most. 🧡🐾

🎃 A Halloween reminder: your dog doesn’t have to wear a costume.

Some dogs genuinely don’t care about costumes. They’ll happily wear a little sweater, hat, or bandana and carry on with their day.

Other dogs find costumes uncomfortable, restrictive, confusing, or downright aversive.

And that’s okay.

The important part is learning to recognize your individual dog’s response.

If your dog is freezing, avoiding you, trying to paw the costume off, lowering their body, pinning their ears, licking their lips, yawning, hiding, or generally looking uncomfortable, that’s information. They’re telling you they don't enjoy what you're asking of them.

You don't need to convince them that it's "cute."

You don't need to push through because it's Halloween.

And you certainly don't need to sacrifice your dog's comfort for a photo.

Respecting your dog doesn't mean never asking them to do something they don't naturally enjoy. It means understanding the difference between training, tolerating, and genuinely being comfortable.

🎃 Some dogs love it.
🎃 Some dogs tolerate it.
🎃 Some dogs really don't want it.

Know your dog. Read your dog. Respect your dog.

The best Halloween photo is one where your dog is comfortable being in it. 🐾

Being charged by an offleash dog is one thing, being charged by a Kangal is a whole new experience 😅

Please for the love of Dog, train your dog if you want to let it offleash. Common sense folks please, it's free.

Love the relationship we've built together so far. She's turning out to be such an amazing dog, so fun to work, so stable and so sweet. She's turning out to be what I was looking for 💜 I'm so glad I kept this little monster
