Woofability Service Dog Training is dedicated to training dogs to enable their owners in a world they may have difficulty navigating as a result of an illness or disability Woofability Service Dog Training Team offers personal training for you and your dog whilst working towards becoming a Service Dog, throughout the training you will be working towards many goals that are agreed between yourself

and the trainer and evaluating each one and making sure that your comfortable with the progress before moving onto the next goal, all goals are working towards you and your dog being able to complete the JIBC Guide Dog & Service Dog Assessment and Task training to navigate everyday life.

Congratulations, Team Esty! 💕🐾

Today is a very special day as Esty and her handler, Sarah, officially passed the BC Guide and Service Dog Certification! 🎉

It has been such a privilege to watch Esty grow over the past two years into the beautiful, confident and dedicated working dog she is today. She is a natural at what she does, and watching all those little pieces of training come together has been incredibly special.

But perhaps the most magical part has been watching Esty and Sarah grow together as a team over these last few months. Their partnership, trust and connection have continued to strengthen, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where their journey takes them next.

Certification is a huge milestone, but it is also the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We know there will be so many adventures, achievements and special moments ahead for these two.

Congratulations, Team Esty! 🩷

Just Enjoying being a dog!

Starting with a service dog prospect can feel like there is suddenly so much to accomplish, and so many other dogs online who seem further ahead.

But you don’t need to race.

Your puppy doesn’t need perfect public access at six months old. They don’t need a long list of tasks before they’re emotionally ready. And a difficult training day doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Let them play. Let them make mistakes. Give them days where nothing is expected of them. Laugh when training doesn’t quite go to plan.

Build confidence, connection and emotional regulation before worrying about how impressive their skill list looks.

Most importantly, try not to compare your journey to someone else’s. Every dog develops differently, and every handler needs something different from their eventual working partner.

Some days you’ll make huge progress. Some days you’ll go backwards. Some days the best training decision you’ll make is to put the treats away and go have fun together.

Train the dog in front of you, build the relationship you want to have, and don’t forget to enjoy the puppy you’re raising along the way.
