Heather wears many hats at the clinic , like most RVTs in rural mixed animal clinics and our clinic is so lucky to have her .

We are hiring!

We are looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. We offer competitive wages, health benefits, and paid vacation time. We have built a new large animal facility in March 2021 and have renovated our small animal clinic, complete with new and updated equipment.
We are looking for a team player who enjoys working with people and who can also work independently with strong communication skills and work ethic.
Duties for the position include but aren’t limited to:
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
• Produce radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
• Assist veterinarian with animals before, during and following surgery
• Prepare surgical equipment, give and monitor anesthetics, and clean up after surgery
• Prepare and give medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
• Give treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
• Provide wound and bandage care
• Talk to clients about animal health care including nutrition and home care
• Do routine animal dental procedures, and help veterinarians with animal dentistry
• May do various office management and clerical duties
• Provide compassionate care to animals
• Perform all duties in accordance with the clinic medical policies and procedures
• Admits and discharges patients on the doctor’s orders, ensuring that all patient instructions are given to the client and reinforces the proper care and procedures that should be followed at home.
• Understands usage and dosage for all prescriptions drugs and can explain them to patients when needed
• Cleaning surgical instruments and wrapping surgical packs
