HEART - Hope Emergency Adoption, Rescue & Transport

A forum for networking dogs in need across Canada's remote communities. Please visit www.heartdogresc

Please note: while HEART understands that there are dogs across the planet in desperate need of help, our focus is on dogs in our own backyard, as there are countless of them in remote communities and on reservations suffering in ways only our Northern climate can produce. Non-Canadian cross-posts will not be removed, but HEART will not intake international dogs. No breeder posts, please, this is strictly a rescue networking site.

We’re gearing up for a large intake this weekend of adult dogs and likely puppies (NOT these dogs but dogs like them!) ! If you’ve ever thought about fostering this would be a good time!

Yellowknife is hoping to find a home for this doggo. He is very quiet and very gentle. He’s only one year old but gets tired quickly because of a serious heart murmur. We don’t know how long of a life he’s going to have but hoping it’s one of comfort and love in a low activity home. If there’s interest, we can work on transport to BC or Alberta

Duchess is a super sweet, non-barking, dog-social middle aged husky who we can’t believe hasn’t even had meets yet. Her fosters think she’s the best girl and all the neighbors love her! We just need a cat free home and someone with a sturdy fence. Senior fee is only $250!
Located in Christina Lake

Puppy alert! This ten week old female terrier mix is a little shy but very sweet. Currently in Rossland.

Muskwa is still waiting for a home! She’s great on and off leash, good manners meeting other dogs and is great with cats. She came from a feral background so still has some quirks (mouthing when excited and licking to get attention).
She’s come so far and LOVES being a pet. More comfortable around women than men. Located outside of Fernie

This girl has made it to Calgary! If anyone is driving to the east or west kootenay this weekend, or Revelstoke, please reach out!

Looking for rides from Calgary to east or west Kootenay or Revelstoke this weekend for this girl or a couple of pups!

Where are our husky lovers? Duchess is 7, so mellowing out! She has the husky stubborn independence when out and about, but will take belly rubs ALL day when in the house. She is super dog savvy and stays calm even when other dogs are agitated. Only special need is a sturdy fence! Located in Christina lake

Muskwa is a very sweet 3 year old shiba mix who is currently living with several dogs and cats. She is a little timid in new environments but otherwise a really good girl! Shes located outside of Fernie and would love someone to go meet her.

Potato is now up on the website. 1 year old sharpei mix who is only 35lbs (pics make her look like a big dog!)
Loves other dogs, very affectionate, good with cats, great off leash. Can’t ask for more! Located in rossland
