🚨 NEGATIVE BLOOD DONOR NEEDED 🚨
*it only takes 10mins to see if your dog is a match, at no cost*
Our very own Maverick is at Riverview Animal Hospital and has been diagnosed with Evan’s syndrome, a serious autoimmune condition that includes IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia). This means his immune system is attacking his own red blood cells (and platelets), causing his blood count to become dangerously low.
He has already received two blood transfusions within 48 hours. At this stage, he may need daily transfusions, which means a different donor dog is required each day.
We are urgently building a list of potential canine blood donors to help support him through this critical time—especially with limited donor availability during the holidays.
The hospital has 1 last donor to call on their list.
Donor requirements:
• Healthy and even-tempered
• Weighs 55 lbs or more (not overweight)
• Between 1–8 years old
• Up to date on vaccinations
Recommended (not required):
• On heartworm and tick prevention
Blood typing is not included in routine bloodwork—it’s a special test. Riverview Animal Hospital would perform this test to determine compatibility. Maverick is negative, so we are specifically looking for negative donors.
If you think your dog may be able to help, please DM us for more information. Even being on a list could make a life-saving difference.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting Maverick. ❤️🐶
