Meet Arthur!

This sweet senior boy is looking for a loving retirement home to call his own!

Arthur arrived in our care in very poor condition. Years of untreated skin issues, and swollen, severe ear hematomas, left him very uncomfortable. Thankfully, Arthur is on the mend, and is receiving ongoing veterinary care, proper nutrition, and a safe place to heal.

Arthur has been through a lot but he still manages to enjoy the small things in life. He loves snacks, tennis balls and is always eager to go for a walk (he is a perfect leash walker!). He remains affectionate and social despite his past.

Arthur has a lot to say and when he wants attention, he can be vocal, but it is only because he is just SO excited!

Arthur will require a foster-to-adopt home that is able to bring him to his veterinary appointments in Richmond. Currently, he is recovering from ear surgery and needs ongoing ear drops. He also has to wear a special head cover to prevent shaking so his ears heal properly. Arthur is on a hypoallergenic diet to help manages his allergies so he can feel his best! In the future, Arthur will require a dental procedure as well.

If you have room in your heart and home to give Arthur the care and support he needs, please click on the link below and fill out an application:

To conquer loose-leash walking, we need to take it one step at a time, and the very first one is the equipment you use.

Maren Bruun of Paw In Hand shares these three essentials to enjoying a loose-leash walk with your dog.

1️⃣Well-fitted harness: that is comfortable for the dog to wear.
2️⃣Long leash: Remember that it is important that you can safely and effectively handle it.
3️⃣Treat pouch with lots of treats: because there are plenty of things that compete for your attention!

We talk all about loose-leash walking at https://animalkind.ca/all-about-leash-walking/
