Canine Good Neighbour
Three special events - $35 each

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

October 5, 6:00 p.m. CGN Workshop - CKC evaluator Yvonne Dyck will provide an introduction to the CKC test and 12 steps, a dog who has titled in CGN will demonstrate the steps, and participants will work through those steps.

October 18, 11:00 a.m. Mock Test Park – It's like the real test, but with zero test pressure. Work through the steps and get feedback at the test location. Practice makes perfect.

November 8 11:00 a.m. CGN Test Park - The official test where entrants can earn their CKC title.

There is enough time between each of these events to learn, practise, get feedback so you can feel uber-confident on test day.

To register, have your dog's CKC number (if applicable), and vaccination expiry dates ready.

Introduction to Scent Detection
Instructors: Terry Gudmundson & Liz Gurr
Dates: Saturdays 1:00-2:00 p.m.; September 19, 26, October 17, 24, November 7, 21.
Starter Scent Kits will be provided.
What you will learn:
-basic scent terminology
-protocols for handling scent
-how odour moves
-how to practice
-how to read your dog
-common handler errors and false alerts
-how to approach the container, interior and exterior searches
-what to expect when you enter a scent trial/basic rules
This class is limited to 6 teams.

PUPPY CLASS
TUESDAYS - 6:30 PM
starting September 22 for 6 weeks
Puppy basics & foundations for puppies up to 6 months old. This class will give puppies and their handlers the foundations and skills to succeed in whatever they want to do in the future, whether that be well behaved family member or to compete in various dog sport. Skills taught will include loose leash walking, heeling, recalls, sit/down/stand, place boards/mats, attention/engagement, how to use food and toys in your training and more.
