🐾🌎 World Rabies Day — September 28 🌎🐾

Today we’re raising awareness about Rabies, a serious and potentially fatal disease that can affect both animals and people.

The good news? Rabies is preventable! 💚

Keeping your pets up to date on their Rabies vaccination is one of the most important things you can do to protect your pets, your family, and your community. Even indoor pets can have unexpected encounters with wildlife.🐶🐱

🐾 Vaccinate. Protect. Prevent.

Let’s work together to keep our pets, families, and communities safe from Rabies.

A rabid bat was found in the Lakeview area of Regina on September 21. More information on rabies can be found at https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/health/diseases-and-conditions/rabies. Rabies is spread through the saliva of an infected animal. If you are concerned about your pet's Rabies vaccination status, please contact your veterinarian.

🐾💙 Happy National Service Dog Month! 💙🐾

This month, we’re celebrating some truly incredible heroes—service dogs! 🐕‍🦺

From providing assistance and independence to offering comfort, safety, and companionship, service dogs make an extraordinary difference in the lives of the people they support. Their dedication, intelligence, and unconditional love are nothing short of amazing. ❤️

Behind every working service dog is also a team of people committed to keeping them healthy and ready for their important work. Regular veterinary care, preventative medicine, proper nutrition, dental care, and lots of rest and enrichment all help these hardworking pups stay at their best. 🩺🐾

To all the service dogs and the people who care for them—thank you for the incredible work you do! 💙

📸 Do you have a service dog in your life? We’d love to celebrate them! Share a photo in the comments and tell us a little about your amazing companion. 🐕‍🦺👇

🐾💙 Animal Pain Awareness Month 💙🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—but they often show us in ways we might not recognize.

🐶 Is your dog slowing down on walks?
🐱 Is your cat hiding more than usual?
🐾 Are they reluctant to jump, climb stairs, or play?
💤 Sleeping more—or seeming restless and unable to get comfortable?
🍽️ Changes in appetite or grooming habits?

These can all be signs that your pet may be experiencing pain.

Animals are experts at hiding discomfort, so even small changes in behaviour can be important. Pain is not simply a normal part of getting older, and there are many ways veterinary medicine can help improve your pet’s comfort and quality of life. ❤️

This month, take a moment to look at your pet’s everyday habits. If something seems different, trust your instincts and talk to your veterinary team.

Because every pet deserves to live a life that is as comfortable, happy, and pain-free as possible. 🐾💙
