🐾 Happy Vet Tech Week! Meet Karley! 🐾

Please join us in celebrating Karley during Vet Tech Week! 💙

Karley passed her exam in June and is excited to continue growing in the veterinary field! One of her favourite things about vet med is the variety the job offers. There’s always something new to learn, and she feels lucky to make a difference in the world by helping animals live their healthiest, happiest lives. 🐶🐱
When she’s not at the clinic, Karley loves spending time outdoors, going on adventures with her dog, enjoying quality time with family and friends, and travelling to experience different cultures. 🌎🐾
Thank you, Karley, for your dedication, compassion, and the care you provide to our patients! We’re so happy to have you on our team! 💙

🐾 Meet Kaitlyn! 🐾

We’re excited to introduce Kaitlyn, who has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) for 3 years! One of her favourite parts of the job is seeing firsthand how the care she provides makes a meaningful difference in her patients’ quality of life. She loves being there for pets during their hardest days while offering comfort and support to their owners, too. ❤️

When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find Kaitlyn riding her horses, enjoying good food (she’s a bit of a foodie!), spending time with friends, or relaxing with her husband and their pets: Finn, their Labrador Retriever, and Diva, their one-eyed cat! 🐴🐶🐱

We’re so happy to have Kaitlyn as part of our team! 💕

🐾💚 Meet Alyssa! 💚🐾
We’re excited to introduce you to Alyssa, one of our amazing veterinary technicians! 🩺🐶

I’ve been tech for 3 years. What I like being about a tech is getting to communicate with owners and seeing the work we do actually improve paitents health. I love the nursing care aspect specially equine cases. I also love that no day is the same and getting to continue my growth.

Help us show Alyssa some love in the comments! 👇💚

PSA about Sedation and Pre-visit Medication for Pets!

We understand that some people may hesitate when we recommend anxiety medication or sedation for something that seems so simple—like a nail trim or ear swab. However, these medications are about safety, not convenience or us trying to spend your hard-earned money.

Patients who are fearful, anxious, reactive, or uncomfortable with having their paws, legs, or bodies handled can become overwhelmed. They may bite and scratch, or injure themselves/others even when we do our best to keep them calm. Repeated stressful visits can cause patients to become even more anxious at their next visit.

We don’t recommend sedation or pre-visit medications to make an extra dollar. We recommend it when we believe it’s the safest and kindest option for EVERYONE involved.

Here is a picture of one of our assistants that was scratched while trying to safely restrain a dog. Situations like this are why we take patient comfort seriously—and this includes pre-visit medications or sedation. Together, we can make sure that every pet feels comfortable coming to their visit!
