It's officially back-to-school season, and we're sending our biggest good luck wishes to all the kids heading back to the classroom—and to all the parents getting back into the school-year routine! 📚🍎💛

And guess what? It happens to be back to school for our Daycamp pups, too! 🐶🎒

Happy International Dog Day from Woodley Acres! ❤️🐾

Today is a celebration of something we have the privilege of experiencing every single day—the incredible bond between dogs and the people who love them.

To us, International Dog Day is about more than celebrating dogs. It's about recognizing the joy, comfort, companionship, and unconditional love they bring into our lives. Every wagging tail, happy greeting, goofy grin, and sleepy face reminds us just how special our four-legged family members truly are. 🐶💛

At Woodley Acres Pet Resort, we feel incredibly fortunate to be trusted with your dogs. Whether they're joining us for Daycamp, staying overnight, getting pampered in our grooming department, or simply stopping in to say hello, we don't take that trust for granted.

That adorable little head tilt isn't just cute. It can actually mean your pup is paying close attention!

Dogs may tilt their heads when they're listening to a sound, trying to understand what we're saying, or watching our facial expressions and body language.

And let's be honest, sometimes they know that cute head tilt gets them extra attention and treats!

WHY DO DOGS GET THE ZOOMIES?

You know the moment — your dog suddenly takes off running, doing laps around the room, spinning in circles, and acting like they have somewhere VERY important to be. 😂

Those bursts of energy are called FRAPs (Frenetic Random Activity Periods), and they're completely normal!

Dogs may get the zoomies when they're:
🐾 Excited or happy
🎾 Ready to play
😴 Releasing energy after resting
🧠 Coming down from a stimulating experience
🛁 Relieved after something stressful

And sometimes… there doesn't seem to be any reason at all. They just NEED to run. 😂💨

This week we are introducing you to Conor CPACP! 🐾

Role at Woodley Acres: Senior Pet Care Specialist (Indian Head location)

Favourite part of working with dogs:
Getting to see so many breeds I’ve always wanted to, and learning each dog’s specific quirks and personalities

Favourite activity at daycare:
Obstacle Course (specifically the dog tunnels)

One thing people might not know about you:
My height is officially 6'8" (last time I properly measured). I was both the youngest and tallest person in my grade while in school

At Woodley Acres, our team plays a big role in making sure every dog is safe, happy, and engaged throughout the day. We love giving you a chance to get to know the people behind the care 🐾
