Meet Wally: proof that sometimes life throws you a curveball, and sometimes you just chew on the curveball and keep going.
Wally came into care after being abandoned with a badly injured leg. Unfortunately, the leg couldn’t be saved and had to be amputated, but don’t bother telling Wally that he’s “missing” anything. This guy is far too busy living life at full speed. Walks? Love them. Swimming? Even better. Adventures? Absolutely yes. Wally has mastered the art of being a tripod and fully expects everyone else to keep up with him.
Now, in the interest of honesty, Wally does come with a few classic German Shepherd features: he’s loud, opinionated, mouthy, and likes to make his feelings known. He also has some stranger danger, which is understandable considering how life started for him. Wally isn’t the kind of dog who instantly loves everyone he meets, he needs people willing to earn his trust and give him the time, structure, and consistency he deserves.
Wally thrives with clear boundaries and confident leadership. If you let him make the rules, he absolutely will… and you may find yourself living under the tiny furry dictatorship of King Wally. But with patience, structure, and guidance, he becomes an incredibly loyal, fun, and loving companion.
He’s good with other dogs and would do best with a confident, well-rounded dog buddy he can lean on for support and take cues from. His ideal home understands working breeds and is committed to helping him continue building confidence while also giving him the exercise and mental stimulation he craves.
Wally has already overcome more than most dogs ever should have to. Now he’s just looking for his people, the ones who will see past the scars, appreciate his big personality, and give him the stable, loving home he’s been waiting for.
