We took Frankie out for some sunshine yesterday and he was initially quite shy, but after a few minutes in the sun he was cruising about between my hands and the grass and smelling everything he could.
I am so happy with how well he has recovered so far, and so SO impressed with how sweet he has been with us, even through the daily meds! He still likes to spend time with us, even if he does like me a teensy bit less than others... (How DARE I give him sweet flavoured meds and poke him with pain relief 4 times! So evil, How dare...)
Once he can prove to me he is completely feeling better and is eating proper sized meals, he will be ready to go to his forever home.
I will be taking down names for an adoption list, so if you are interested in giving him a home please message me here so I can keep track!

Here is the famous Frankie showing off why Python regius is commonly known as the Ball Python!
He is going in to shed and already didn't like his marshmallow flavoured antibiotics, so he has been very pouty the last couple days. His mouth is looking much better, and this shed should help clear some of that damaged skin away and let it heal a bit easier.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS SNAKE?

This past Friday, I was sent a post in a neighbourhood group about a snake someone had spotted at a park in town nearby. Not ten minutes after seeing that post, I was there talking to some very nice folks who had put it into a tote to wait for us. I checked him over and immediately saw his mouth was injured, but he seemed fine otherwise. I set him up in a quarantine tote for the evening and let him rest with some water and heat.

Saturday we took him to a local vet who works with exotics, and she diagnosed him with an abscess/mouth infection in his bottom left jaw. He is on pain medication for a few days while it gets less sore, and antibiotics until it heals! He is not underweight, not dehydrated, he has no stuck shed or scale rot, and has been so sweet through the treatment so far.

I have posted him to local reptile groups, lost and found pets groups, and on my own page, but I have heard nothing about an owner so I wonder if this poor fellow may have been abandoned due to his injury. We may never know his story, but I do know he is safe here until he is healed!

We've had quite a few setbacks in the last year, and thus have been taking some time to make some changes and plan our future! We've also had some losses, which is partially to blame for the lack of posts. This week in town is rainy and overcast so we are staying in with video games while we wait for supplies for some projects to arrive.

After some back and forth, we've decided to let Goober, our male Crimson Giant Day Gecko (Phelsuma grandis) find a new home and a new girlfriend! We were planning to introduce him to LSP, however since her passing we have decided not to get another female.
He is flighty as this species tends to be, but he is rather easily convinced with repashy. He also has a small skin slip scar on his right side from his previous home, but it's healed up beautifully.
