✅ Check your hay supply and quality, not just quantity. Hay cut late in the season can be lower in digestible energy than you'd expect
✅ Senior horses and hard keepers need extra attention right now. They lose condition faster in cold and regain it slower

A female calf can be born unable to reproduce when her twin is male.

This is called a freemartin. When male and female calves develop as twins, their placental blood vessels can connect, allowing hormones and cells to pass between them. This can interfere with normal reproductive development in the female calf.
About 90% of female calves born twin to a male are freemartins and are infertile.
