We’re excited to introduce VetWise, our new after-hours triage service.

The Prince George Afterhours Urgent Care Group has joined together to use VetWise, to provide a more consistent experience for pet owners across the community. When you call our clinic at 250-963-9898 outside of regular hours, you will have the option of leaving a message on our voice mail for non urgent questions OR if you are experiencing an urgent care situation you will press "0" to be connected with a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who can assess your concerns and help determine the best next step.

There is no charge for RVT triage.

VetWise is a Canadian company and available when our clinic is closed. Depending on your pet’s situation, the RVT may recommend monitoring at home, seeing your regular veterinarian the following day, arranging a televet appointment, or connecting you with the veterinarian providing in-person after-hours care.

Using one shared service also allows for better communication between clinics when another clinic is caring for your pet. VetWise records the details of the call so your veterinary team can follow up when we reopen.
