The mares are christening the new paddock, the pasture boys are back out in the back pasture, and Charlie and Pixie have been making use of the holding pen while we remove some trees from their paddocks🐴

It’s nice to see all the different spaces around the ranch coming in handy. Everything has its purpose, and we’re always finding new ways to make it all work! 😊

A little sneak peek at what we’re planning for next summer! 🤠🐴

We’re working on our very first clinic at SVS Ranch, and we’re thinking a Cowgirl Weekend with an intro to roping clinic!

We’re dreaming up a weekend with a little bit of everything… trail rides, yoga, painting, and of course, some roping! 🌸

We’re just waiting for our local Gymkhanna Club dates to come out before we pick our weekend, but we wanted to share a little preview of what’s in the works!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at SVS Ranch! 🧡🍂

We have lots to be thankful for this year. From the horses and people who have become part of our little ranch community, to the friends and family who help us keep building and growing this place.

We’re thankful for the beautiful property we get to call home, the horses who keep us busy, and everyone who follows along, supports what we’re doing, and helps make this little dream what it is.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with good food, good company, and a little time to slow down and appreciate what we have. 🦃🍁

Alright horse people, I need your opinions! 👀

We’re building our mountain trail course and I want to hear from YOU what you’d like to see included.

Think of this as helping us design it! Our first phase will be built on about half an acre, and we’re really trying to make good use of the space while still leaving room between obstacles to actually ride through them.

If you could create your dream mountain trail course, what would you put in it?

Bridges? Ditches? Hills to climb? Water? Logs? Tires? Obstacles through the trees? Something you’ve ridden before that was a ton of fun? Or something you’ve always wanted to try?

The goal is to make this a real outdoor playground for horses, not just a few obstacles sitting outside an arena. And yes, we’re leaving enough space that if you want to pick up some speed, you’ll have the opportunity! 😏

So help us design it! What would make you excited to come ride this course?

A little milestone for us at the ranch ❤️🐴

For the first time since opening our facility, all of our full-time boarders are on regular board with round bales!

The round bales with nets have honestly been such a game changer for us. The horses have forage available pretty much around the clock, and we’re seeing the results, healthy weights and happy horses. ❤️

We still have some of our short term horses on square bales, and we make sure they’re getting fed three times a day with the feedings spread out as evenly as possible. This works easier for owners who need to move their horses around and are only at the ranch part time.

It’s just really cool to see how far we’ve come since opening. We’ve tried different things, figured out what works best for our setup, and are always looking for ways to make things better for the horses.

Seeing a bunch of happy, healthy horses out there with their heads in their hay nets makes me pretty darn happy too. 🥰

A few things happening around the ranch now that the weather is finally a little more reasonable and cool! 🍂

We’ve been busy getting a few projects checked off the list, including TWO new large paddocks! 🙌

And probably one of the biggest sighs of relief around here… we finally finished the electrical run to the front two paddocks.

That project took TWO YEARS to complete. Two whole years. 😂 There were definitely moments where I wondered if we were ever going to see the end of it!

But it’s DONE. And that means all of the paddocks we use on the house side for winter now have heated waterers. 🙌

It’s one of those projects that probably doesn’t sound all that exciting, but when you’re the one dealing with frozen water in the winter, it’s a pretty big deal!

Slowly but surely, things around here are getting finished, improved and a little easier to manage. And there’s still lots happening around the ranch! ❤️

A little bittersweet news around here 🥹

One of my lesson students is getting her very own horse! ❤️ I am SO excited for her and this next chapter, but it does mean one of my coveted Saturday lesson spots has opened up!

So if you’ve been waiting for a Saturday spot, this might be your chance! 🐴

I can also work this spot into a sibling lesson time if you have more than one kiddo wanting to ride, so it can work nicely for families too.

Lessons are tailored to the rider and their comfort level, and are open to kids and adults.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how this little ranch is slowly becoming more than just a place to keep horses.

When we started all of this, I think our goal was pretty simple. We wanted to build a property that was well set up, had lots of room, and could actually be used and enjoyed by other people too.

Today, two of our boarders met for the first time, and honestly, it warmed my heart.

It’s pretty cool watching this little community grow naturally. One horse girl at a time. One friendship at a time. Brick by brick, person by person.

We’re still a small ranch, and I really like that about it. But slowly, we’re filling it with good people, good horses, and hopefully a whole lot of good memories along the way.

I don’t think we could have planned for this part, but it might just be one of my favourite parts. ❤️🐴

Less than 24 hours here and I think it’s safe to say they’re settling in pretty good. ❤️

One was having a good lay down, one was hanging out in the shelter, and the other was soaking up the sunshine.

Just calm, content horses taking in their new surroundings and doing their thing.

Honestly, this is my favourite part. Seeing them start to relax and get comfortable so quickly. 🥰
