One of the things that makes us happiest is looking out across the ranch and seeing it full of horses. ❤️
But even better than seeing a ranch full of horses is seeing a ranch full of happy horses.
When we started building this place, we wanted to create something a little different. A place where horses could have the companionship they naturally crave, without being put into huge groups where some can end up on the outside.
Most of our groups are just two or three horses, with our biggest group being our “herd,” which we like to keep under five. Small enough that they can find their friends and their place without one horse always being the odd one out.
Of course, not every horse wants or needs a buddy, and that’s okay too. We have dedicated single-horse paddocks for the horses who are happier with their own space. It’s about finding what works for the individual horse rather than expecting every horse to fit into the same setup.
Add in plenty of food, freedom to move, and room to just be horses, and it’s pretty amazing to watch what happens.
Grazing together, playing, napping, sharing hay and wandering around with their buddies, just happy, settled horses doing horse things.
We wanted to build a place where horses could feel naturally settled, and honestly, seeing that come to life around us is one of the best parts of having this ranch. Looking out and seeing horses that are comfortable, content, and happy to be here makes us pretty proud of what we’re building. 🐴
