BC SPCA qathet The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting vulnerable animals and mobilizing communities so animals and people thrive together.

✨️OLIVIA✨️

There's something pretty special about our little Olivia. She's the kind of puppy who likes to take a moment, look around, and figure things out before deciding what she'd like to do next.

At 12 weeks old, this sweet Border Collie/Husky cross has a thoughtful little personality, a gentle nature, and a whole lot of love to give.

Olivia is a bit more reserved than her siblings. While the others might be busy throwing themselves into the middle of the action, Olivia is often happy to watch what's happening around her first. She's our little observer, taking it all in at her own pace.

But don't mistake her quieter nature for a lack of affection! Olivia is a cuddly little sweetheart who enjoys being close to her people, soaking up gentle attention, and enjoying all the good things that come with being a loved puppy.

She's also quite the little trooper! Olivia has dealt with an infection during her short life, but she's taken things in stride and continued to show us her sweet, easygoing personality.

And treats? Oh yes, Olivia is a fan! A tasty little snack is certainly one way to get this gal's attention.

We think Olivia would blossom beautifully with a patient, loving family who appreciates her thoughtful nature and will help her build confidence as she grows. Like any puppy, she'll need guidance, socialization, training, and plenty of opportunities to explore the world in a positive way.

Olivia might not be the loudest puppy in the room, but she has a quiet little charm that's pretty hard to resist.

Sometimes the sweetest things are worth slowing down for, and Olivia is certainly one of them. 🩷

Meet Zeus! 🐾

Zeus is a big, lovable goof who is still very much a puppy at heart! He's playful, affectionate, full of personality, and has a wonderful enthusiasm for just about everything life has to offer. Whether he's heading out on the trails, hopping in the car for an adventure, or enjoying some playtime, Zeus is happiest when he's out doing things with his people.

And while he certainly loves to have fun, Zeus has a softer, snuggly side too. He's a big fan of belly rubs, pats, and simply hanging out with his humans. For all his playful energy, he's just as content to settle in beside you and enjoy some quiet time together.

Zeus is also quite the entertainer! He loves a good game of fetch and will happily chase down a ball. Bringing it back, however, is apparently optional. He's still reviewing the rules of the game, and we're not entirely convinced he agrees with all of them. Ha!

Now, Zeus may be a big boy, but he's still very much a puppy at heart, and with that comes a little learning! He already knows sit, down, and off, and he's currently working on his loose-leash walking skills. He's a smart, enthusiastic guy who would benefit from someone willing to continue helping him learn the ropes. Think of him as a big baby who's still figuring out how to navigate the world with four paws, a whole lot of excitement, and occasionally questionable coordination. 😂

When it comes to four-legged friends, Zeus does well with larger dogs who appreciate his rather exuberant style of play. He's not exactly a delicate little flower when playtime rolls around, so a like-minded canine companion who enjoys a good romp would be ideal! Cats and small dogs, however, aren't a suitable match for our big fella.

We think Zeus would absolutely thrive in a rural setting where he has plenty of opportunities to explore, stretch those legs, and enjoy all the wonderful things that come with being a dog. Trails to wander, adventures to be had, and a human (or two!) who enjoys getting outside as much as he does? That's the dream!

Zeus doesn't need someone who expects him to have everything figured out already. He needs someone who sees the wonderful dog he is, appreciates his goofy puppy ways, and is excited to help him grow into the best version of himself.

He's got the personality, the affection, the enthusiasm, and a whole lot of love to give. Now he just needs his person to share it all with.

Come meet Zeus. We have a feeling this big, lovable goof is going to make someone a pretty incredible adventure buddy. ❤️

We're saddened to share that late last night, a deceased dog was brought into our care from the Whalen Road area.

The dog appears to be an older Labrador Retriever cross and was found without a collar or identification.

We would very much like to locate their family and provide them with some closure.

If you believe this may be your dog, or have any information that could help us identify their owner, please contact the BC SPCA qathet Community Animal Centre.

Our thoughts are with the family who may be missing their companion. ❤️

Meet Sammy! 💕

Ohhhh, Sammy. Where do we even begin with this girl? 😂

She's got personality for DAYS, a healthy dose of sass, and enough charm to get away with just about anything. And trust us, she knows it!

Sammy is a mover, a shaker, and a self-appointed supervisor of absolutely everything. If something is happening, Sammy is there. If nothing is happening, well, she'll probably find a way to change that. She's got places to be, things to investigate, and apparently a very busy schedule that none of us were consulted about.

And then there's treat time. Oh, Sammy LOVES treat time. Particularly those delicious little kitty squeeze tubes. But why politely enjoy a treat when you could attempt to steal the entire tube and make a run for it?! Full or empty, doesn't matter. It's hers now. Catch her if you can!

She's playful, curious, adventurous, and we're fairly certain she thinks she's the funniest cat in the building. Honestly? She might be right.
But don't let all that mischief fool you. Sammy has a wonderfully affectionate side too! She loves attention from her people and is more than happy to soak up all the pets and affection you're willing to dish out. She's just not one to sit around waiting for the fun to come to her!

Scratching posts? She'll climb them. Cat shelves? Perfect for surveying her kingdom. Something interesting happening across the room? Excuse her, she's needed elsewhere.

Life with Sammy will never be boring, and we wouldn't have her any other way.

If you're looking for a sweet, sassy, hilarious little sidekick who will keep you laughing and occasionally make off with your belongings (particularly if they're edible), Sammy would LOVE to meet you! ❤️

Oh, Sophie. What a lovely little lady you are!
Petite, sweet as can be, and an absolute delight to spend time with, Sophie is one of those cats who just makes your day a little better.

She's affectionate, attentive, and quite happy to be doted on, but she's not one to demand your undivided attention 24/7. She's got manners, you know! Sophie is perfectly content to enjoy your company without being all up in your business. We appreciate a feline who respects personal space. Ha!

Sophie has a calm, quiet nature and is a big fan of the cozy cat life. Soft pets, gentle chin rubs, a comfy spot to curl up, and someone to love her? Sounds like a pretty perfect day in Sophie's world.

Now, don't let her laid-back lifestyle fool you. This little lady has some serious speed when the occasion calls for it. And by occasion, we mean TUBE TIME! 😂

That's right, crack open a kitty treat tube and suddenly our sweet, leisurely Sophie has places to be and absolutely no time to waste. Priorities, people!

Sophie really is such a gem. A gentle, affectionate little companion who would love nothing more than a cozy home, a kind person to call her own, and perhaps a well-stocked supply of her favourite treats.

We're running low on a few essentials and could really use a hand from our wonderful community!

We help local pet owners who need a little extra support keeping their furry family members fed and cared for.

🔹️I'm ADOPTED!🔹️

Meet William. His friends call him Bill. Naturally.

And William is a BIG boy.

Big head. Big paws. Big floof. Big presence. He has the stance of a lion surveying his kingdom… except, to be clear, he is not a lion. He is a cat. A very handsome, very majestic, slightly entitled cat.

William is a lover of people and is more than happy to accept your admiration in the form of chin scratches, bum scratches, pets, compliments and, most importantly, Temptations. Because in William’s world, it is always Temptations time. Breakfast? Temptations. Afternoon snack? Temptations. Just had Temptations? Excellent, probably time for Temptations. (pssst, treats in moderation obviously!)

He’s also a certified purr machine and an all-around friendly guy who genuinely enjoys hanging out with his people.

Other cats, however?

Absolutely not.

William has no interest in sharing his kingdom with another feline. He is a solo man, a one-cat household kind of gentleman, and frankly, he sees no reason why you would require another cat when you already have… William.

And have we discussed his modelling career?
This guy can POSE. William has a mighty stance and somehow manages to look majestic in basically every photo without even trying. You could probably sit him beside a velvet curtain and commission an oil painting of him to hang above the fireplace.

Actually… you should probably do that.

William enjoys spending time in his catio, taking in the sights and fresh air, but he also seems pretty committed to the indoor life. The cozy life. The loaf life. The “I’ll be over here looking magnificent while you bring me snacks” life.

Is he a little entitled?

Yeah.

But it’s William.

You can’t exactly tell him he’s not special when we all know perfectly well that he is.

So, if your home is currently lacking one enormous, floofy, friendly, purring faux-lion who would very much like to be your one and only feline masterpiece… Bill may be your guy. 🦁❤️

Meet Ramona. 🖤

Okay, we know this girl now - and Ramona is SUCH a love.

It took her a little time to settle in and decide we were worthy of seeing the real Ramona, but now? She's affectionate, curious, observant, quietly funny, and an all-around lovely little lady.

One of her favourite places is out on her catio, where she keeps a close eye on the comings and goings of the Centre. In fact, Ramona usually knows who's pulling into the parking lot before we do. Security? Reception? Neighbourhood watch? She's apparently taken on several roles around here. 😂

She's also a wee talker, often accompanying her little chats with the softest leg rubs. Usually the message is something along the lines of, "Hello?? You appear to have hands. Are those for petting me? Also, while you're here... treats?" And if you happen to have a kitty squeeze tube? Congratulations, you've just moved significantly higher on Ramona's favourite-people list.

Chin scratches, gentle ear rubs, pets and pats - Ramona absolutely lives for affection from the people she loves. But she's not the type who needs to be in your business 24/7. She appreciates her quiet time and personal space too, making her a pretty wonderful mix of affectionate companion and independent lady.

She's playful, sweet, and has been doing well around the other cats here. A like-minded feline sibling could be a lovely match for her. Canines, however, remain firmly off Ramona's roommate wish list. She's a cat's-cat kind of gal. 😆

Ramona has really blossomed since we first met her, and getting to know this sweet girl has made us love her even more. Now she just needs people of her very own to chat with, keep tabs on the neighbourhood with, and gently remind that the squeeze tubes aren't going to serve themselves. 🐾

Meet Sonny! 🐰✨

Sonny is a bit bougie, and honestly, we respect it.

We regularly catch this handsome gentleman making his own cucumber water. 🥒💧 Sure, technically he may just be dropping cucumber into his water dish, but Sonny knows luxury when he sees it. Hydration, but make it fancy.

One half of an iconic duo, Sonny is a curious, sweet guy with plenty of personality. He likes to know what's going on around him, appreciates the finer snacks in life, and is always willing to investigate when he suspects something tasty may be happening nearby. The way to this boy's heart is absolutely through his stomach!

Sonny can be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a bit of time and he warms up beautifully. Once he's comfortable, he's happy to be held, enjoys gentle pets, and is a really lovely little guy to spend time with. He's curious, well-mannered, and ready for a home where he can explore, play, stretch those bunny legs and continue living the good life.

And yes, there is a Cher! 🎶

Sonny and Cher came into care together, although they haven't actually spent all that much time sharing the same space. Sonny is currently living in his own setup right next door to Cher, so they can still keep tabs on one another like any good celebrity duo. 😂

They'd be happy to head home together and continue getting to know each other, but they're also perfectly happy to find loving homes separately. Either way, Sonny is ready for plenty of enrichment, attention, tasty snacks and, presumably, a respectable cucumber supply.

So whether you're looking to bring home the whole Sonny & Cher experience or you're ready to give this handsome rabbit his own starring role, Sonny would love to meet you. 🐰💛
