We absolutely love receiving post-adoption updates! 🥰

Walter and Richie (formerly Buster) found their forever home back in March, and it sounds like these handsome boys are settling in beautifully. Their family recently sent us this sweet update:

Just wanted to send an update and a huge thank you to all the great staff who helped me during the adoption process back in March.

Walter and Richie are blossoming into such sweet, intelligent boys. Every week they're becoming more affectionate and confident. Richie especially is a total lovebug, greeting us every morning with nudges and looking for pets at almost every opportunity. We're so proud of him. And Walter is starting to really love being brushed and getting pets during nap time. He is an adorable goofball who is constantly making us laugh (and who has the cutest little face ever).

Our home is so much happier with them, and we're just constantly in awe of how much they love each other, and us!

We're so grateful to the SPCA for your rescue efforts, and for providing us with the most adorable little black and white gentlemen.

Thank you so much for everything you did for our beautiful boys! We love them so much ❤️

🍋🐾 A huge thank you to Sheridan! 🐾🍋

For her 8th birthday, Sheridan and her friends squeezed 48 lemons to make lemonade and sell it in support of the animals in our care.

Together, they raised an amazing $132.95! 💛

We're so grateful that Sheridan chose to spend part of her special day helping animals in need. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and big heart!

Happy 8th Birthday, Sheridan! 🎉🐶🐱🐰

If you are looking for a furry friend who is full of love, personality, and a whole lot of silly charm, look no further!

At just 8 years old, Ryah has a heart as big as her playful spirit.
While Ryah is currently taking a little time out from her usual zoomies due to a torn ligament in her knee, this doesn't deter her from getting up to her playful antics or sneaking onto your lap for a cuddle to dream about her next adventure!

Ryah is currently on the lookout for a foster to adopt placement to help her through her surgery and recovery. She's hoping to find someone who's gentle, patient, and willing to help her heal, all while showering her with love and kisses! Ryah will need a home that can help her stay comfortable during her recovery, and in return, she promises to keep you on your toes and give you all the snuggles you could ever ask for!

Despite her temporary limps, Ryah's personality is all about sweetness and friendliness. Although Ryah can be a bit weary of strangers, this doesn't stop her from getting up close and personal once she is comfortable.
One of Ryah's favorite things? Playing and jumping around (which she can't do quite yet), but when she's back to full speed, she'll be the first to invite you for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard!

Ryah is a water lover through and through. She doesn't need any encouragement to take a dip. Splashing around, swimming, chasing after a stick, or just floating around like an otter is her idea of pure bliss. Lake days are Ryah's jam; Once she's all healed up, she will happily follow you on any adventure as long as it ends in a quick (or long) dip!

And here's a fun bonus; Ryah is basically your very own alarm system! She's got a nose for trouble (or what she thinks is trouble). She will happily alert you if a squirrel sneezes across the street or a leaf falls in the wrong place!
Think of it like having your own personal security guard, the only difference being that Ryah is much cuddlier and cuter!

Ryah also has a soft spot for feline friends; Or maybe just a tolerance, but who's to say! Dogs can be a little bit more difficult for Ryah as she can be a bit selective. Ryah would do best in a home where she is the only pooch!

When it's bedtime, Ryah loves to snuggle up in her favorite spot on your bed. Ryah will happily take up the majority of your bed if you let her.
After some negotiating, she will lay at the end of the bed. But watch out, she will be quick to steal your spot if you get up!

If you are ready to open your heart and home to this sweet, fun-loving gal, submit a pre-adoption questionnaire at the link below and learn more about Ryah today!

To conquer loose-leash walking, we need to take it one step at a time, and the very first one is the equipment you use.

Maren Bruun of Paw In Hand shares these three essentials to enjoying a loose-leash walk with your dog.

1️⃣Well-fitted harness: that is comfortable for the dog to wear.
2️⃣Long leash: Remember that it is important that you can safely and effectively handle it.
3️⃣Treat pouch with lots of treats: because there are plenty of things that compete for your attention!

KITTEN SEASON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

And honestly? The cats did not consult us before launching this absolute population boom.

Our centre is filling up with tiny meows, hungry mouths, exhausted mom cats, spicy little bottle babies, and kittens who somehow have the energy of 47 toddlers after a juice box. Annnnnd, well, you guessed it - we need foster homes!

Whether you can foster:
🐾 Orphan kittens
🐾 A mom cat with babies
🐾 Older kittens
🐾 Cats recovering from illness or surgery
🐾 A shy cat who just needs a quiet place to decompress

…you can make a massive difference.

Fostering saves lives. Straight up. Every foster home opens space in shelter for the next animal needing help, and gives cats + kittens a chance to grow, heal, learn, and thrive in a home environment. Also, yes, you will probably end up with 900 photos on your phone and at least one kitten who believes your shoulder is public transit.

We provide support, supplies, medical care guidance, and all the adorable chaos. You provide the safe landing spot.

Right now, we are especially in need of fosters willing to help with kittens and mom-and-baby families during this incredibly busy season. Even short-term fostering helps more than you know.

If you've ever thought:
“I could totally hang out with tiny cats for a good cause”
…this is your sign.

Apply to become a foster and help us get these little beans into the fabulous foster homes they deserve until they're ready for adoption. 🐱💕

Who is that tiny senior supervisor peering out the window like she just witnessed a neighbourhood scandal unfold? Why, that’s Coco of course.

At 15 years young, Coco has perfected the art of being equal parts sweetheart, queen, and mildly offended by your life choices. This girl has two signature expressions: “I cannot believe you just did that,” and “I absolutely knew you were going to do that.” Honestly? She’d make an incredible HOA president.

Coco enjoys keeping tabs on the outside world from the comfort of her favourite observation post. Birds in the yard? She saw them first. Neighbour bringing groceries home? Coco’s already formed an opinion. You opened a snack without offering her any? Unacceptable behaviour, apparently.

When it comes to affection, Coco likes pets and attention… on Coco terms. Picking her up? Maybe don’t get ahead of yourself there. This is a cat who knows exactly what she likes, exactly when she likes it, and expects the world to adjust accordingly. To be fair, after 15 years of experience, she’s earned that right.

Though Coco would likely be happiest as the only cat in the home - where she can fully dedicate herself to neighbourhood surveillance and judging your decisions uninterrupted - she would also happily head home with her daughter, Saba, who is also available for adoption. A senior mother-daughter duo? Honestly, iconic.

If you’ve been searching for a cat with personality, opinions, and the energy of a retired auntie who watches everyone through the blinds “just to stay informed,” Coco may just be your perfect match.

Looking for a senior kitty who still thinks she’s in her prime? Then Saba would like a word. Preferably while dramatically flopping at your feet for belly rubs.

Saba is proof that age is just a number. This gorgeous gal climbs cat trees like she’s training for the feline Olympics, keeps her silky coat in absolutely top-tier condition, and carries herself with the confidence of a cat who knows she’s still got it. (Because she absolutely does.)

But Saba’s real magic is her personality. She adores spending time with her people and has perfected the art of politely demanding affection. Need directions on where to pet her? Don’t worry, she’ll demonstrate with an impressive series of rolls, flops, stretches, and strategic positioning until you hit all the right spots. Customer satisfaction is very important to her.

Sweet, social, and still full of spark, Saba is ready to bring plenty of love, laughter, and just a little bit of senior-cat sass into her future home.

Some cats burst into a room demanding attention. Nova? She’s a little more sophisticated than that. 🖤

Nova is the kind of girl who likes to take a moment to size things up first. New places? New people? She prefers a proper introduction before deciding you’re part of her inner circle. But once you’ve earned her trust, ohhh, you’re in for it - this girl is all about love, companionship, and soaking up affection like it’s her full-time job.

Cheek scratches? Elite. Cozy couch hangs? Absolutely. Quietly existing near her favourite people while looking impossibly beautiful? That’s Nova’s specialty.

She’s not the type to launch herself off the walls chasing toys at 2am. Nova’s vibe is more “let’s hang out together and enjoy the good life.” Whether she’s curled up beside you for movie night, supervising your daily tasks from nearby, or politely requesting attention with those soulful eyes, she just genuinely loves being with her people.

And honestly? With that sleek black coat and gentle personality, it’s hard not to fall a little bit in love with her.

Nova is looking for a home that will give her the time she needs to settle in and the love she’s more than ready to give back tenfold. 🖤
