Myth vs. Fact! 🐶

Myth: Rotating playgroups means dogs aren’t getting enough playtime.

Fact: Rotations help balance social time, enrichment, and rest while thoughtfully matching dogs with the right playmates!

At The Pawffice, we believe quality matters just as much as quantity. Rotating playgroups allows us to consider each dog’s individual needs, energy levels, and play styles while ensuring they get opportunities to socialize, explore enrichment, and recharge.

Employee of the Month

October’s Employee of the Month goes to ✨ Daisy D ✨

Some employees bring a positive attitude to work. Daisy brings the entire sunshine forecast.

We’re beginning to suspect Daisy has a direct connection with Mother Nature because we’re not sure we’ve ever seen a rainy or cloudy day when she’s on the schedule!

As our self-appointed Head of the Social Committee, Daisy takes workplace culture very seriously. She’s never met a coworker she couldn’t befriend, is always eager to please, and firmly believes that every workday should include a healthy balance of socializing and relaxation.

Her key responsibilities include:

- Maintaining excellent relationships with every department (big dogs, small dogs, management and even the neighbour’s cat)
- Ensuring workplace morale remains at an all-time high
- Demonstrating the perfect sploot during scheduled downtime
- Welcoming coworkers with unmatched golden retriever enthusiasm
- Making every new employee feel like they’ve been part of the team forever

Daisy has also been making excellent progress in her professional development, particularly with her loose leash walking skills! Unfortunately, management has noticed that these skills seem to disappear entirely when she’s arriving for her shift. Apparently, getting to work on time is more important than following company walking procedures.

Despite her questionable commute etiquette, Daisy’s enthusiasm, friendliness, and commitment to being everyone’s best friend have earned her this month’s top honour.

Congratulations, Daisy D! Your bonus includes unlimited compliments, extra belly rubs, and a permanent invitation to every company social event.

Training Tip Tuesday

A quiet dog isn't necessarily a comfortable dog.

Just because a dog isn't barking, growling, or reacting doesn't mean they're comfortable. Freezing, avoiding eye contact, turning away, and becoming unusually still can also indicate stress. Learning to recognize subtle body language helps us advocate for our dogs before they feel the need to escalate.
