FRIDAY POP QUIZ! ✏️📚

School has been in session all week at The Pawffice, so naturally we had to see who’s been paying attention.

Today’s Pop Quiz put our dogs to the test with sits, downs and stands, switching between each position and earning some very important extra credit (treats, obviously).

Once the quizzes were handed in, we finished off the school week with snuffle mats for enrichment, a chance to put those noses to work while slowing things down and decompressing.

We’d say everyone passed with flying colours. Although we have a suspicious number of students requesting to repeat the class. 😂

Myth vs. Fact!

🐾 Myth: Dogs should “work it out themselves.”

✅ Fact: Allowing dogs to resolve conflicts without intervention can quickly create bad experiences or fights.

At The Pawffice, our team actively monitors interactions, watches for signs of discomfort, and steps in early when needed. We believe in preventing problems rather than waiting for them to happen.

Good daycare means knowing when to let dogs play—and when to step in.

You open our camera roll expecting normal things…

Instead, it’s approximately 4,827 photos of your dogs. 😂

Playing, training, napping, making questionable facial expressions, hanging out with their friends and generally being the main characters around here.

Working at The Pawffice means our camera rolls basically belong to your dogs at this point.

And no, we will not be deleting any of them.

Today’s Pawffice report card: Gym Class = PASSED. ✔️

Today’s Back to School training had the dogs heading to Gym Class, where they worked their way through obstacle courses!

Obstacle courses aren’t just fun. They encourage dogs to think through new challenges, build confidence, practice body awareness, and work together with their handler.

After gym class, it was time to slow things down with a Licki Mat for enrichment and decompression. Licking is a great calming activity that gives dogs a chance to settle and enjoy some quiet time between all the fun.

A little learning, a little movement, and a little downtime. Just another school day at The Pawffice.

Train for the situation, not just the cue

“Leave it” in your living room and “leave it” beside a dropped chicken wing aren’t the same level of difficulty.

Build skills gradually before expecting them to work around big distractions.

Around here, school is officially back in session but our curriculum looks a little different.

- Group training games
- small play groups
- 1:1 training
- Splash pad recess
- Sniff walk field trips
- Enrichment, play & plenty of opportunities to learn

Because daycare doesn’t have to mean playing all day.

Different dogs need different things, and we want their day to include a little bit of everything..opportunities to play, learn, explore, decompress and just be a dog.
