Mountain Rose Maine Coons Mountain Rose is small Canadian Cat Association (CCA-AFC) registered cattery located on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

It is our goal to produce extremely friendly Championship quality Maine C**n Cats.

We just had the busiest weekend!!!
We attended the CCA-AFC National Cat Club show in Fredericton.

Sherri and I were responsible for transporting the judging cages and stands. Plus we assisted with set-up. I then had to work as a clerk the entire show. So Sherri had to handle the cats all on her own for the weekend 😰

We brought along Mountain Rose Amelia Purrhart to compete in the Championship class and everyone's favorite clinic kitty 😻 Beaker 😻 to strut his stuff in Household Pet.

Both had great weekends!!!! Amelia earned two 1st place finishes, one All Breed Final and one Long Hair Speacialty Final. Two first place finishes are required for a Supreme Master Grand Champion. 🙀 This is just incredible for a 9 month old female Maine C**n. 🙀 FYI - Fen was almost 19 months old before he got his first 1st place finish and then just shy of his second birthday for his second 1st place finish.

Our tiny red headed heart BrEAKER 😹 was not to be outdone. On Sunday, he took 3rd Best of Best Household Pet !!!!

This weekend we are in Belleville, Ontario for our little girl's first show in the adult class. At 8 months old, Amelia Purrhart is still a little small to wage war with the big boys. Though she is determined to make it a hard fought battle.

This morning one judge took her 2nd Best in Breed, 5th Best Long Hair Champion and 9th Best in the All Breed Final.

Hopefully, the rest of the weekend gets even better 😼

"I want fish now!"

Nik loves fish and chips. Well... the fish!
We had to run into the city today and promised Nik we would stop at his favorite place, Gazoo's in Porter's Lake. Unfortunately, we forgot Gazoo's is closed on Monday 😱😾🤬

So we continued home along the Old No. 7 and decided to stop at Ralph's Downeast Diner in Ship Harbour. It's a cute little place with good prices and good food.

So we were able to applease the beast with a belly full of nicely cooked fresh fish!!! Thank God, we were getting concerned for our safety!!! 😨😱

Everyone say Hello to Beaker!!!
We are at our vet, Central Nova Animal Hospital, in Truro this morning visiting thier new clinic cat, Beaker 😻

Beaker is a 15 week old Solid Red. He is the solo kitten from QT and Fen's last litter. This LITTLE guy is just that little. Beaker is exceptionally small for a Maine C**n. He weighed 2 lbs this morning. At this point, he should be 5 lbs or more.

We have no idea why Beaker is so small. He seems quite healthy but... is there an underlying health condition causing his slow growth. With this uncertainty, we decided Beaker needed a home that could deal with any unexpected health crisis. Our extended family at Central Nova seemed the perfect choice.

Over the last two weeks, Beaker has been making himself COMPLETELY at home at the front desk 😼
