We use positive reinforcement techniques to teach you - the parents - how to get your dog to perform the behaviours your want!

We're getting ready for one of our favourite weeks of the year at Unleash the Pawsitive!

October 26–30, daycare dogs can upgrade their regular visit with our Howl’o’ween Pawty add-on. 🎃

They'll get to enjoy Halloween games, a themed KONG treat at naptime AND head home with their very own trick-or-treat bag. 🍬🐶

$26.99 + HST, added to their regular daycare visit.

If your dog is already booked for daycare that week, you can add the Pawty to their visit. If they're not booked yet, this is your reminder to get them on the schedule! 🐾

🍂 Think tick season is over because summer is over? Think again.

Fall is still a time to stay vigilant — especially when our dogs are exploring long grass, trails, leaves and wooded areas. 🐾

One of the best habits you can get into is a quick tick check after outdoor adventures.

👀 Check around the ears & head
🐕 Feel around the neck/collar area
🦵 Check legs, armpits & belly
🐾 Don't forget between the toes
🔎 Run your hands through their coat and feel for anything unusual

A couple of extra tricks we love:

🧹 Lint roller: Run one over your dog after walking through grassy areas — it may help pick up tiny ticks that haven't attached yet.

📱 Your phone: Remember our negative-filter tick trick? Using your phone's colour settings can sometimes make tiny ticks easier to spot. (We'll be sharing that one again soon! 👀)

And prevention matters too.

We carry , a Canadian-owned, Health Canada-registered botanical repellent approved for use on dogs when used as directed. 🇨🇦🐶

Our next Obedience Class is all about building practical skills that work in real life — not just when everything is quiet and there are no distractions!

Over 6 weeks with Jessica, we’ll work on skills like:

🐾 Come when called
🐾 Stay
🐾 Leave it
🐾 Loose-leash walking
🐾 Focus around distractions
🐾 Better everyday manners

Whether you’re building these skills for the first time or your dog just needs a little refresher, this class will help you communicate more clearly and build more reliable behaviours together.

🐾 Our leash wall was looking VERY full today… and we love to see it! 🎉💙

With everyone settling back into their routines, daycare is getting busy again!

If your pup has regular days they love spending with us, we strongly recommend booking ahead whenever possible. We hate having to tell one of our furry friends that we're full!

Wednesdays and Thursdays are especially popular and tend to book up the fastest, so if those are your preferred days, the earlier you reserve them, the better. 🗓️🐶

And don't forget — you can make their daycare day even better by adding a Sniffari for some one-on-one exploring and sniffing, or a bath so they head home tired, happy and clean. 🐾🛁

We couldn't be happier seeing all those leashes hanging up. 💙

Yesterday we said goodbye to our Oaklee, Oaks, Oakalee-smokalee, and the whole reason Unleash the Pawsitive is here.
From his incessant barking as soon as we arrived in the morning for his Kong, to barking as soon as customers would come through the door so they would go say hi, to dropping his ball over the baby gate and having so many people toss it back to him (boy he had us trained well)
I’m gonna miss him laying under my desk and all the time I almost (or did 🙈) roll over part of his fur because he was always in the worst spot.
I know he’s having all the fun up at the Rainbow Bridge with all our buddies we’ve lost through the years 🌈
Gosh, they know how to break our hearts 💔

What does a day at Unleash the Pawsitive look like? 🐾

Sometimes it's a solo adventure with plenty of time to sniff and explore. 🌲

Sometimes it's running around with their favourite daycare friends. 🐶

And sometimes… it's celebrating a VERY important birthday! 🎂🥳

Daycare isn't just about putting dogs together and letting them play. We love giving our dogs different experiences throughout their day that provide physical activity, mental stimulation, social opportunities and, most importantly, FUN. 💙
