🔥High-Risk Air Quality Alert: Protect Your Pets 🐾

With the current poor air quality caused by forest fire smoke, it's important to remember that our pets are affected too. Just like us, they can experience irritation and breathing difficulties when air quality is poor.

🐶🐱 Pets at highest risk include:
• Brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, and Persian cats
• Senior pets
• Puppies and kittens
• Pets with heart or lung disease

Signs your pet may be affected:
• Coughing or wheezing
• Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing
• Excessive panting
• Watery eyes or nasal discharge
• Lethargy or reluctance to exercise

How to reduce the risk:
✅ Keep outdoor time short and avoid strenuous exercise.
✅ Walk dogs during times when air quality is at its best, if possible.
✅ Keep windows and doors closed and use air conditioning or an air purifier if available.
✅ Ensure fresh water is always available.
✅ Monitor your pet closely for any signs of respiratory distress.

Seek veterinary care immediately if your pet is struggling to breathe, has blue or pale gums, collapses, or their symptoms worsen.

Our furry family members depend on us to help keep them safe. A few simple precautions can make a big difference while air quality remains poor.
