☀️Hot Weather Reminder! 🐶

Hi friends,
With the warmer weather here, I wanted to share a few tips to help keep our furry family members safe and happy on their walks.

🐾 The best times to walk your dog are early in the morning or later in the evening, when temperatures are cooler and sidewalks are less likely to burn sensitive paws.

💧 Bring plenty of fresh water and take frequent water breaks, especially on longer walks or for senior dogs and puppies.

🌳 Stick to shady areas whenever possible and take breaks to cool down if your pup is panting heavily or slowing down.

❄️ If your dog gets overheated, avoid giving ice-cold water. Offer cool (not icy) water in small amounts and move them to a shaded or air-conditioned area. Cooling them gradually is much safer than using ice water.

🐾 And don’t forget the 5-second paw test—place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws!

Let’s keep our four-legged friends safe so they can enjoy the summer too. ❤️
