On June 29th we had to say goodbye so suddenly to our Sweet Nova, the light and star of our pack. Nova was known to be the resident “nanny” and pack leader of mischief in our home. She stole hearts and socks equally, and would always greet you with a smile on her face — in her kind blue eyes.

In the past two months since her mama Nymeria passed, it’s been tough on her. While we know she was still our happy and caring girl, she truly missed her mom. It was a sadness we believe, caused her mammary cancer to come back. Our heartache is comforted knowing that she’s running again with mama Nyny and daddy dukes (Mukka), without pain and loneliness.

Nova, you were and are still, so loved. Our house and bed feels a little emptier and our plates are far too full without you and your hungry nose. Your little sisters will try their best to honour the care and patience you’ve taught them - but we know, no one can ever replace you. We know your silly spirit is still hanging around the pack, keeping tabs on how everyone is doing, and likely, still stealing our socks. 🧦

Love you forever. ❤️‍🩹

🐾 raise funds for the food & care costs of our sanctuary residents

🛌 keep their beds cozy with gently used blankets, pillows, sheets and towels
🧸 give old toys a second life with dogs who truly appreciate it!

On May 2nd we said goodbye to a beautiful soul - the matriarch, the husky momma to our pack, and beloved best friend. 💗 Nymeria, you will be forever missed by us and everyone who had the privilege to know you. You taught us more than words could ever express, with your gentle ferocity, your humour, and your deep wisdom. Our dog choir will be missing its soprano, our couches will be missing your soft tufts of hair, and our hearts will be feeling the ache of not having another year, week or day with you.

Despite the heaviness that comes with loving and losing, we know your spirit is happy, running around howling, finally reunited with your beloved Mukka. It brings us a bittersweet happiness knowing that your two hearts are now whole, together again.

Love you forever mama 🤍 we can’t wait to see how your garden grows and the hydrangeas bloom where you and Mukka are now resting.

Luna appreciation post! 🎉🥳 happy birthday to our resident playtime supervisor and referee 🥹 Those of you who have met her can attest to how special this gentle giant is - from watching over the pack to barking at butterfly farts, she’s exceptional at her job 😂. Who knew that one rehome case would bring so much joy and love to our pack? From a teeny tiny house, to acres of adventure, we are infinitely grateful to have Lu along with us on this wild journey.

We can make a difference but we need your help! 📢 Dogs get discarded and abandoned on a daily basis - we get calls, messages, emails to ask if we can take them in, but what if there was a better solution?
