🔬SPOTTED UNDER THE MICROSCOPE: "WALKING DANDRUFF"!

We had a little visitor under the microscope.... and this one was moving!👀

What looks like ordinary dandruff can sometimes be caused by Cheyletiella mites, commonly known as "walking dandruff." These tiny mites live on the surface of the skin and can cause:
🐾Flaky, dandruff-like skin
🐾 Itching and irritation
🐾 Redness or crusting
🐾 Increased scratching or grooming

The name "walking dandruff" comes from the fact that the mites can actually be seen moving through the flakes of skin. Creepy? Just a little!

The good news is that walking dandruff is treatable, but it can spread between animals and, occasionally cause temporary skin irritation in people too.

So next time your pet suddenly has a LOT more dandruff than usual, there may be more to it than meets the eye!
