🐠 A LITTLE BETTA EDUCATION! 💙
We’ve had quite a few customers expressing concern about our bettas lately, so we wanted to take a moment to explain what’s going on! 😊
🌿 Why is the water brown?
Our bettas currently have Catappa tea in their water, made from Indian almond leaves. This naturally tints the water a tea-like colour, which can sometimes make it look dirty. However, this is intentional! We’re using it as part of our efforts to support our bettas while we work through some swim bladder issues. ❤️
🐟 Is that betta dead?
Nope! One of our bettas is experiencing a swim bladder issue, which affects its buoyancy and ability to swim normally. While it may look concerning, the little guy is very much alive, and we’re keeping a close eye on him while we try to help him recover. 💙
We’ve put up new signs in-store to help explain both situations, but we thought it was worth sharing here, too!
We truly appreciate customers looking out for our animals. We love that you care! 🥰 We just want everyone to know that the discoloured water is intentional, and their cups get cleaned three times a week 😊
