With nail trims staying steady, I unfortunately have to add some safety guidelines to keep myself, you and your dog safe.

If your dog has a bite history, please discuss this with me so we can be prepared.
Dogs with a bite history are now required to wear a muzzle during their nail trim.
Dogs that begin to bite during their nail trim, will then be required to wear a muzzle from that moment forward.

Although I do train as well, my nail trim sessions are not training sessions. I usually book my trims back to back, and have other appointments to get to. Unless discussed you need extra time, this may not be available.

I do my best to go at yours and your dogs pace, and keep things calm. Some dogs still do not do well with it. Whether they’re nervous with new people or just don’t like their nail trims, some still react how we wish they didn’t.

I have been nipped more often lately, and have had owners getting bit. This is not how I want my trims to go. It’s stressful for you and your pup.

Soon I will have muzzles on hand, but as of now I do require you to have your own.

I am ALWAYS willing to give it a try without a muzzle. But I need to be safe.

ℹ️ muzzles are not a punishment or a bad thing. They are an excellent tool when used properly, and can benefit the dog in many ways.

We also offer nail trims for your other furry friends, as well your scaley and feathered friends!

Keeping nails trimmed is an important part of caring for pets of all shapes and sizes! But how do you know when it’s time for a trim?

Cats may need their nails trimmed when you notice sharp “needle claws,” snagging on blankets or furniture, or if their nails begin curling. Indoor cats often need trims more regularly since they naturally wear them down less.

Rabbits and other small animals like guinea pigs may need nail trims when the nails start looking long, curved, or make clicking sounds on hard surfaces. Overgrown nails can affect how they walk and may even cause discomfort.

For birds, nails that become overly sharp, long, or start affecting their grip on perches may need trimming. Healthy perches and climbing surfaces can help naturally wear nails down, but some birds still need regular maintenance.

Reptiles can also develop overgrown nails, especially if they don’t have rough surfaces in their enclosure to help wear them naturally. If their nails begin snagging, curling, or making handling uncomfortable, it may be time for a trim.

Regular nail checks help keep pets comfortable, mobile, and safe — and make trims easier before nails become too long!

“Can an old dog learn new tricks?” Absolutely! Older dogs are often calmer, more focused, and eager to bond with their people, making them wonderful students. While they may take a little more patience and consistency than a puppy, senior dogs are fully capable of learning new commands, manners, and fun activities.

Training an older dog is not about perfection — it’s about communication, confidence, and teamwork. Using positive reinforcement like treats, praise, and play helps keep learning fun and stress-free. Short, encouraging sessions work best and can even help keep an older dog mentally sharp and engaged.

Whether you’re teaching basic obedience, polite house manners, or a brand new trick, remember: age is just a number when it comes to learning. With patience, kindness, and consistency, old dogs can absolutely learn new tricks — and they may surprise you along the way!
