It is with a heavy heart Peterborough Pet Hospital is sad to announce the recent passing of Dr. Joseph Muise D.V.M. Dr. Joe’s career in veterinary medicine spanned over 40 years. The majority of his professional practice occurred at Peterborough Pet Hospital which he owned and operated. He was a talented small animal surgeon at heart, with a passion for veterinary medicine that never waned. Dr. Joe always said “love what you do and you will never work a day in your life.” In keeping with Dr. Joe’s wishes , there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers , donations can be made to Sunnybrook Schulich Heart Program in his memory. Dr. Joe had a life well-lived.
Please note, Peterborough Pet Hospital remains open and operating with our team of dedicated veterinarians and staff for its’ clients and their pets.

A few weeks ago, Rook came to see us for having trouble urinating.
As you can see, he had multiple urinary calculi in his bladder and one had even travelled down his urethra and become stuck. Ouch!!
We were able to flush the stone back into his bladder and drain his bladder to provide some much needed relief. We then had to perform a laparoscopic assisted cystotomy to remove the bladder calculi.
How many stones do you think we removed?
