Its that time of year again and it's time to get some Vees tickets. Lucy really loved watching hockey. Pearl would really rather get that puck herself but since she can't it's a good time to sit back and rest while we watch the fun.

The family has a very old but beautiful service dog, Abby, who is retired. She is going into another winter, and each cold season I worry about how the cold effects an old dog. Pearl is not as old as Abby, but has turned 13 this summer. For the winter ahead I have already been conditioning her pads and have a light sweater dug out for her, just in case its too cool during our morning walk. Be aware of age. They still need exercise and smart eating habits, but they need to be kept safe and warm too. After a long working life they deserve everything they get.

I don't ride my bike anymore because my knees wont let me. But I sure can't understand those people that leave the back seat empty. My dogs loved going with me, the best way to travel for all of us. This picture is one morning when we were getting ready to go in the parade.

Pearl asked me how much longer until Christmas. I don't think it was for gifts. She really doesn't like the heat and is quite happy spending her time at the creek or the lake. I agree. How long until it gets cold again?

Motorcycle season always makes me smile. I just can't imagine not riding with my dog. Never a dull moment when your best bud is with you.

Wow, what a great weather change for Penticton. But I wonder. Ticks probably were not much trouble with the heat, But will our beautiful weather bring back the problem. Is it time to be vigilant again? My best bet is be prepared.

From what I understand they are being much more strict on dogs being brought over the border. If you have to take your dog with you, make sure you have proof of shots and health. With the way things are going at the border you never know. Will they just make you turn back, or will they take the dog?
