📢 Update on Noelle

Following her most recent vet visit and routine bloodwork, Noelle’s results showed she still has very mild anaplasmosis and ehrlichia. She has already completed a full 30-day course of doxycycline, which is typically sufficient, but as part of our standard protocol before travel, we retested her to ensure she was fully cleared.

Based on these results, Noelle requires an additional 30 days of antibiotics to fully clear the infection. These are common, treatable tick-borne infections, and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Noelle is feeling great and in wonderful spirits. She will be retested after treatment, and once she receives a clean bill of health, she’ll be cleared to travel and begin her next chapter in Canada 💛🐾

We will repost Noelle when she is ready to start her new life and begin accepting applications at that time.

Thank you for your patience and for supporting us in always putting our dogs’ health first.

💜 Rescue Story
On Christmas Day, Danielle Michon was driving through a small village about an hour outside of Valladolid on her way to pick up rescue crates arriving in Cancún.

As she passed through the village, she noticed a small dog completely bald, pink, and suffering from severe mange. Danielle stopped to offer food and water and administered NexGard before continuing her journey.

But she couldn’t stop thinking about the little dog. Danielle knew that without help, she would continue to suffer and likely would not survive.

On December 29, despite being unwell herself, Danielle made the two-hour round trip back. With the help of Marty Osorio, she was able to safely capture the dog, now named Noelle.

They immediately took her to a local veterinarian for a full examination. Later, Danielle drove five hours round trip to Tulum so Noelle could see a specialist vet and begin treatment.

Today, Noelle has fully recovered and is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a loving family.

🐾✈️ Rescue Journey – Mexico to Canada 🇲🇽❤️🇨🇦

On March 9, five very special pups began a life-changing journey from Mexico to Canada — and it truly took a village to get them here safely.

Flavio (now D**o/Diego), Lila, Arturo (now Finn), Ruby (now Lilo), and Emilio (now Scuttle) have now arrived and begun their next chapters. Some went straight into loving homes, while others started in foster care before quickly finding their forever families. Seeing them finally get the lives they deserve is what rescue is all about. 🐾❤️

A huge thank you to our amazing flight angels Kathy and Tony, who volunteered their time to es**rt these pups on their journey to safety.

The pups’ journey had several unexpected bumps — flight delays, weather challenges, crate issues, missed cutoffs, and even a mechanical delay. Yet thanks to the kindness, flexibility, and determination of so many people, every dog reached their next destination safely.

💛 Our rescue village made this possible:

✨ Kathy and Tony – for your incredible dedication and for serving as amazing flight angels. After arriving very late, they took four puppies home overnight and were back up just 3.5 hours later to continue the journey. Tony even accompanied Diego to Nanaimo, while Kathy spent hours making multiple airport runs and foster drop-offs to get every pup safely where they needed to go.

✨ Pauline – for meeting the flight, giving Diego a place to stay overnight, and getting up early so he could continue his journey.

✨ Mariel – for helping with our late-night airport arrival.

✨ Jackie – for picking up crates and helping to care for four puppies overnight before they headed to their homes and fosters the next morning.

✨ SeaIr Seaplanes staff Claudia and Carlos, and pilots Kelly and Erwan – for going above and beyond to help get Diego on his flight despite delays and crate complications.

✨Pacific Coastal Airlines staff Onkar and Nafeez – who showed incredible kindness by accepting Arturo (Finn) after cutoff and making sure he was cared for and safely boarded despite a mechanical delay.

✨ Our incredible fosters Monique and Kara, and our adopters – for opening your homes and hearts.

✨ Danielle Michon – for your tireless work helping the dogs of Valladolid every single day.
Rescue like this only happens because people care and work together for dogs who deserve a second chance.

💛 Behind every safe arrival is hours of unseen effort, sacrifice, and people who refuse to give up on dogs who deserve a chance.

🇨🇦 Welcome to Canada D**o, Lila, Finn, Lilo, and Scuttle. ❤️🐾

Guillis is a joyful, high-energy puppy with a big personality and a deep love for people and other dogs. Playful, social, and full of enthusiasm, he lights up with excitement when engaging with his humans and canine friends — classic puppy spirit through and through.

📍 Currently in: Valladolid, Mexico
✈️ Guillis is anticipating to come to Vancouver soon!

🐾 About Guillis
Date rescued: November 24, 2025
Age / DOB: September 2025
Gender: Male
Breed: Mixed breed
Size: Medium
Weight: 12.2 kg

💙 Personality
Guillis is an extremely playful, social puppy with very high puppy energy. He loves interaction, entertainment, and being part of the action. When he’s happy, he goes all in — tail wagging, jumping with excitement, and eager to play.

Like many puppies his age, Guillis is still learning impulse control and boundaries. He is smart, enthusiastic, and very aware when he’s done something wrong, but his puppy brain is still catching up. With structure, consistency, and guidance, he has all the potential to grow into a wonderful companion.

🐕 With Other Animals & People
Dogs: Good — loves playing with other dogs
Cats: Good
Kids: Good (with appropriate supervision due to puppy energy)

⚡ Energy Level
High puppy energy — playful, energetic, and entertainment-driven. Guillis will do best in a home that enjoys an active lifestyle and continued training.

🚗 Day-to-Day Life
Housetrained: In progress
Leash: Enjoys walks and does well in a harness
Crate: Crate trained — sleeps in his crate with no accidents

🍽 Feeding & Routine Notes
During meals, Guillis prefers his person to stay nearby and may follow them to investigate other dogs’ food. This behavior is rooted in excitement and puppy curiosity rather than aggression and is expected to improve in a calm, structured home environment.

🏥 Health
Past health issues: Rescued alongside his siblings covered in ticks; completed a one-month preventative course of doxycycline
Ongoing health needs: No known issues

💜 Rescue Story
A neighbour alerted Danielle to two heartbreaking situations nearby. One dog had recently given birth to nine puppies; tragically, most did not survive, and the few who did were indiscriminately given away. Nearby, another dog had just delivered five puppies who were living in deplorable conditions.

Danielle stepped in immediately and took the puppies into her care. Sadly, one little girl was too ill to survive. Danielle also rescued both momma dogs and had them spayed so they will no longer endure repeated pregnancies.

Guillis and his brother were in such poor condition that they required a full week of hospitalization at the veterinary clinic. Today, all of Guillis’ siblings have been adopted into loving homes in Mexico.

🌏 Adoption Locations
Guillis can be adopted to the following areas: Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, Lower Mainland, and the Okanagan

🐾 Ideal Home
Guillis would thrive in a home that is excited to continue his training and provide structure, enrichment, and consistency. He is best suited for adopters who understand puppy behavior and are ready to invest time and patience as he grows. Another playful dog would be a bonus, but not required.

✨ Our adoptions include a two-week trial period to ensure the best fit for both the dog and the adopter.

🐾 Sterilization Campaign Recap — Thank You, Valladolid!

A week ago, on March 22, our sterilization campaign took place in Valladolid, and it was a wonderful success. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible.

This campaign was a shared initiative between Street Dog Love and APACCCValladolid, bringing together international and local support to help animals in our community.

A huge thank you to Street Dog Love (USA) for their kindness and generosity in offering 300 free sterilizations for the animals of Valladolid. Your support continues to create lasting change for animals and the people who care for them.

We are also deeply grateful to the Planned Pethood veterinarians from Mérida, including Dr. Jeff Young Vet Fans Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet and his team, whose expertise and dedication made this clinic possible.

A special thank you to Laura Arceo, who joined APACCCValladolid to help with the planning and logistics of the event, working alongside our team to help ensure the campaign ran smoothly.

We would also like to thank the municipality for supporting the campaign by providing the space, materials, and transportation for the veterinary team from Mérida. The health authorities also participated by providing rabies vaccinations during the event.

Thank you as well to all the volunteers and transport teams who helped families bring animals who otherwise would not have had a way to attend. Your help made it possible for many animals to receive care.

And of course, thank you to all the donors who supported this sterilization campaign and helped make the APACCCValladolid clinic a success.

Finally, thank you to everyone who brought their animals to be spayed or neutered, and to those who care for and feed animals in the community. We truly appreciate you respecting your appointments and committing the time to bring them. It may have been a few hours of your day, but the impact will last for years.

In total, 294 animals were sterilized during this campaign. That means fewer unwanted litters and a healthier future for the animals of Valladolid.

Prevention is rescue. Together, we are creating a better future for animals in our community. 🐾
