Pets are creatures of habit, and they are very good at letting us know when we are running behind!

Look who’s all grown up! 💙

We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Beans since he was a puppy, and now he’s getting ready for his neuter.

He stopped by for his pre-anesthetic bloodwork and quickly discovered one very important thing about the process: there were treats involved.

Beans was more than happy to help with quality control. 😂

We love getting to watch our patients grow up, and we think this handsome face deserves a spot on your feed.

Small comforts can make a big difference for ageing pets and pets living with discomfort.

Simple changes at home can help make everyday movement and routines easier. Non-slip rugs, a supportive bed, a step or ramp to a favourite spot, food and water within easy reach, and a low-entry litter box can all help.

Shorter, gentler walks may also be more comfortable for pets who are slowing down.

Every pet is different, but small changes can help them feel safer, more confident, and more comfortable at home.

Pain does not always look like a limp.

Sometimes it shows up as small changes at home, such as taking longer to get up, stiffness after rest, less interest in play, hiding more, grooming less, avoiding jumping up, or not wanting to eat.

Cats can be especially quiet about discomfort, so changes in routine, movement, or behaviour are worth noticing in both cats and dogs.

You know your pet’s normal best. Small changes can be important clues.

A quick reminder that Huronia Animal Hospital will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labour Day.

We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m.

Please check your pet’s food and medication supplies ahead of the long weekend, and contact us before closing if you need anything prepared.

September is a month to notice the little things.

Small changes in movement, behaviour, appetite, sleep, grooming, or routine can tell us a great deal about how our pets are feeling.

Frequent flyer alert: Todd! 💙

Todd is one of our regular visitors, and somewhere along the way, he managed to completely win over our technician team.

We get to see this sweet face pretty often, and we certainly aren’t complaining. He has become one of those patients everyone is happy to see coming through the door.
