And that concludes Day 2 of our Welcome to Summer CARO Trial 2026! ☀️🐾

What an incredible weekend!

A HUGE, HUGE, HUGE shout-out to our amazing volunteers. These trials simply could not happen without you. Thank you Jeane, Shelley, Ginette, Jane, and Christine for giving your time, energy, and smiles all weekend long. ❤️

Our next shout-out goes to the wonderful competitors. While we had a different crowd each day, one thing remained the same — the supportive atmosphere. Everyone was encouraging, helping one another, celebrating successes, and making the weekend such a pleasure to be part of. It’s truly special to see. 🐕❤️

And what about our judges? Aren’t they wonderful?

A special thank you to Shelly Lyck, who stepped in at the last minute for Denna. We were sorry you couldn’t be here, Denna — you were missed! But Shelly did an absolutely fantastic job, and we’re so grateful she was willing to jump in and help. 🌟

And finally, our canine companions. Oh my goodness, did they work hard! Each round may only be 5–6 minutes long, but six rounds over a weekend is a lot of mental and physical effort. Every single one of our furry teammates earned our respect this weekend. 🐾💪

A heartfelt thank you as well to Monet St. Louis for creating such a wonderful photo shoot setup! 📸✨ It was a huge hit and gave everyone the opportunity to capture some special memories with their dogs. Day 1 of our two-day CARO trial is in the bag, and wow—what a day!

A huge thank you to all of our competitors for coming out and supporting the trial, especially those who travelled long distances to join us. We truly appreciate your dedication to the sport.

A special shout-out goes to the dogs for being such great sports and giving everything a try, even while dealing with the torrential rain outside. Thankfully we were indoors, but I think we all heard it pounding on the roof at some point!

We were also fortunate to have two new volunteers helping us this weekend. Thank you for jumping in and lending a hand—we hope we haven’t scared you away and that we’ll see you back again!

And last but certainly not least, thank you to our wonderful judges, Pat and Shelly, for keeping the day running smoothly while making it fun and enjoyable for everyone. Deanna, we missed you, but Pat and Shelly did you proud.

Our 6-week Puppy Kindergarten course starts on June 25th at 5:30 PM and is designed to help you build a confident, well-mannered companion while learning the science behind how dogs learn and behave.

Over six weeks we'll cover:
🐾 Loose-leash walking
🐾 Recall foundations
🐾 Greeting people politely
🐾 Everyday manners and life skills
🐾 Preparing for veterinary visits
🐾 Nail trims and handling exercises
🐾 Understanding puppy behaviour
🐾 How dogs learn and why it matters

Plus, we'll discuss one of the biggest misconceptions in puppy raising: socialization.

☀️ With the warmer weather, it's tempting to take your puppy everywhere. While exposing puppies to the world is important, too much too soon can be overwhelming. We'll show you how to build confidence without creating stress and how to recognize when your puppy has had enough.
