As temperatures start to drop, you may be wondering how long your dog should spend outdoors. The answer depends on factors like their size, coat type, and age. Keep an eye out for signs they're getting too cold, such as slowing down, shivering, or lifting their paws. When you notice these cues, it's time to head inside and warm up.

Check out our Cold Weather Lookbook for more expert tips on keeping your pet safe and comfortable this season. 🐾❄️

Behind these 2 friendly faces is a whole lotta of community building💙 helping to strengthen our community 1 bowl at a time for animals in need❤️

Thank you to Pet Valu Petawawa , Pet Valu Pembroke for collecting food in your community bins and always sharing what you can to help local pet parents in need. Thank you to Deep River and Area Food Bank for sharing over 250lbs of pet food, we pawed it forward to The Grind Pembroke😻🐶

This past week alone, over 300lbs of pet food was also shared with Petawawa Pantry - Food Bank and Eganville Food Bank🐾

No one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets. The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society works with food banks and community partners to distribute pet food where it’s needed most.

Fully supported by donations, our pet food distribution program provides pet food and essential supplies to families in need. If you’d like to help, we welcome donations of unopened pet food, pet supplies, or monetary contributions. Donations can be dropped off at your local Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Renfrew County Animal Centre during our operating hours or you can connect with us to arrange a pick-up for larger donations. Together, we can make a meaningful impact for pets and the people who love them.

Thank you so much for helping us fill more bellies in our community, it truly makes a difference and fills our hearts💙🐾
