❗️🐾 Overnight hours update : October 16 (Fri) & 17 (Sat)

FBVS Parksville will be open for urgent appointments until midnight on both nights. Please call ahead before coming in.

After midnight, limited staff will remain on site to care for patients already in the clinic. We will not have capacity to accept new patients.

Calls after midnight will be answered by Animal Health Link (AHL), who will guide you and direct pets needing care to Victoria.

As mentioned when we announced our overnight hours, occasional adjustments may be necessary due to limited veterinary staffing. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these changes. 💜

FBVS Parksville will be available for urgent care on Monday, October 12, with a small team on site while the rest of our staff enjoy a well-deserved break.

❗️A reminder that we provide urgent care but are not an emergency hospital. Pets requiring more complex emergency care may be directed to Victoria.

Other care options over the holiday:
📲 Nanaimo Urgent Pet Care Center: 250-933-0913 Previously known as Central Island Veterinary Emergency Hospital (CIVEH) does not provide overnight care. Please check their posted hours on Google and call before heading over.

📢 Didn't want to keep you guessing too long! Here's whats coming to FBVS Parksville! 🐾🎉
We’re creating a dedicated space for urgent care and hospitalization.
One feature we’re especially excited about is our treatment pods, where you can stay with your animal. Because being close to their favourite human can mean so much. 💜
🛠️ The entire project is expected to be completed by spring/summer 2027, with some areas opening sooner so we can start putting them to use! We’ll keep you posted as each part comes together.
📣 STAY TUNED FOR OUR OFFICIAL OPENING DATE! Turn on notifications for our page so you catch every update and sneak peek.
What would being able to stay beside your pet during treatment mean to you? Tell us below! 👇🐶🐱

🚨 Important After-Hours Veterinary Care Update
Please note that Central Island Veterinary Emergency Hospital is now known as Nanaimo Urgent Pet Care Center.
They are no longer offering overnight care and are now open 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
If your pet requires after hours care, please contact:
🐾 FBVS Parksville: 250-947-1763
🐾 Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital: 250-475-2495
🐾 WAVES: 778-432-4322
❗️A reminder that FBVS Parksville is not an emergency hospital. While we are able to provide overnight care for many urgent patients, pets requiring more complex or specialized emergency care may still need to be directed to Victoria.
❤️ A little tip from our team: Save all these numbers in your phone now! When your pet suddenly needs urgent care, it can be stressful and hard to think clearly. Especially when you’re trying to figure out where to go in the middle of the night. Having these numbers saved ahead of time is one less thing to worry about.
📲Please call ahead whenever possible before travelling with your pet, and feel free to share this post so other local pet owners can be prepared too. 🐾

🎉 BIG NEWS! WE’RE NOW OPEN 24 HOURS!🐾
Starting this week, Fantastic Beasts Veterinary Services Parksville will officially be open 24 hours a day!
While we are striving for 24hr, 7 days/wk, 365 days/yr coverage, we already know there will be occasional dates and times that we cannot cover. We will try to update our social media and website as soon as possible for these instances.
Also, a quick reminder that we are not an emergency hospital or referral center. While we can accommodate most cases, there will be times that we recommend referring patients to a larger center - so please phone before bringing your pet whenever possible!
Our Animal Health Link (AHL) after-hours team will continue to be available by phone to help guide pet owners with any pet-related concerns. Pets requiring urgent or same-day assessment can be referred to us through AHL when appropriate.
Our expanded hours also allow us to provide continued hospitalization and overnight monitoring for our patients, as well as help with some patients requiring ongoing care when local clinics close.
📞 Please continue to call first before coming in. This helps ensure your pet is directed to the most appropriate care and allows our team to be prepared for their arrival.
This is a big and exciting step for our team, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience and continued support as we settle into being 24/7! 💜🐾
