All of our annual cut flowers were grown by seed, nurtured by us bit by bit. We don’t have a greenhouse so everything is transplanted into the ground and we let nature do its thing. Being in the garden has gently nudged us to be more patient. We had been worrying about whether we did too little or too much as our seedlings grew in our new backyard. As they started blooming, it was a reminder that there is no need to worry. As long as we do what is required of us, we just need patience as the rest is nature’s work. 🌱
This last week, we have seen many of our flowers starting to bloom. The rain brought in some interesting creatures. And after two weeks of seeds in the ground, our sunflowers are peeping out of their shells. 🌻
We are nearing the completion of building our little farm shed to store our tools. Really loving this tan metal roof colour from Cascadia Metals We originally went with the champagne colour and found it too bright. Luckily, only half of our roof order came in, so we were able to order the second half in tan.
After a week of work, some friends visited us and we went to visit Parksville Beach Festival for the first time. The sculpture by Ludo Roders was one of my favourites: “Sometimes the greatest strength is revealed through gentleness”
