Parsnip / F / 2Y / 17lbs / Bichon Poodle mix / Fostered in New Lowell

If you're looking for a ride-or-die best friend, Parsnip is your girl. This sweet, cuddly, outgoing young lady has one mission in life: to be as close to her favourite human as possible. Whether that means curling up on your lap or just flopping near your feet, Parsnip just wants to be near you — and honestly, who wouldn't want that kind of devotion?

Parsnip's superpower is her confidence. She has been to busy garden centres and restaurant patios without batting an eye, says hello to everyone she meets (she might give a quick bark first, but give her 10 seconds and she's already in love), and gets along great with other dogs and kids. She currently shares a foster home with two dogs much bigger than her, and there hasn't been a single issue — she shares everything beautifully and has zero resource guarding. Cats are still untested, but given how easygoing she is, we wouldn't be surprised if she handled that just fine too.

She's playful, calm most of the day, and has that classic young-dog enthusiasm — especially when you walk through the door! She's a champion greeter, with happy jumps and gentle, affectionate nibbles (we're working on redirecting that excitement into a tug toy, and she's making great progress). She loves her walks, gets plenty of yard time with her foster siblings, and is happy with a couple of kilometers of exercise a day plus playtime. Medium energy means she's up for adventure but also perfectly happy to just be near you on the couch.

A few things her foster family wants you to know: Parsnip is potty trained, crate trained, and doing great work on her leash manners (no reactivity at all — she's just still building polish). She's not a fan of crate time itself (gets a little nervous and drools), so she does best with company nearby, like a foster sibling or familiar face. She has some mild separation anxiety, so her ideal home is one where she won't be left alone for long stretches — a job that allows working from home, or a household with another pet for company, would be perfect for her. She's never shown fear of anything, rides well in the car, and adjusts to pretty much any environment you bring her into.

Because of her size and her love of being right up against you, Parsnip would do best in a home without very young children, as she could accidentally bowl them over in her enthusiasm to be close. But for families with older kids, other dogs, or anyone who simply wants a constant, loving shadow, she would thrive.

And yes — she has the most adorable underbite. 🥹

Nigel and Potato giving Carole some love 🐮💕 Did you know cows form real friendships? Cows develop close bonds with the others they spend their lives with, and grooming each other (called allogrooming) is one of the clearest signs of it. It's not random — cows tend to lick the ones they're closest to, and it actually lowers heart rate and stress for both of them.

It's easy to think of dogs as having feelings, personalities, and best friends, but cows are no different. They form attachments, recognize each other as individuals, and clearly show who they love. This is Nigel and Potato showing Carole she's their favourite girl.

Meet Charlotte! 🐾

This sweet 8-year-old Shih Tzu came to us after losing her owner — and even though that's a hard transition for any pup, Charlotte has been an absolute love bug from day one. She's taking her time settling into her new surroundings, and we're so proud of how far she's already come.

Right now, Charlotte is getting some well-deserved spa treatment and vet care to help her feel her best. She's got a bit of itchy skin and some ear irritation that we're treating, so she might be rocking the "cone of shame" for a little while — but check out her glow up!

Charlotte isn't quite ready for adoption yet — she needs a little more time to settle in and finish up her vet care. But once she's ready, we'll be sharing her full adoption bio, so stay tuned! 💕

✨ MARTHA UPDATE ✨

She did it! 🎉 Yesterday our girl Martha had her second mastectomy surgery, her spay, AND had a tiny eyelid lump removed — all in one day. Talk about a warrior! 🐱💪

✅ From under 7 lbs ➡️ a healthy 10 lbs
✅ Flaky, itchy skin? GONE. She's absolutely glowing.
✅ The hardest part is officially behind her!

She had a tough night, but was in the best hands with one of the amazing vet techs by her side. She's feeling a bit better today and is reminding us all what a little trooper she is. 🥹

We're awaiting biopsy results, but the future is looking bright for this sweet girl. When she's recovered and ready, we'll post her adoption bio!

🚫 Please hold off on adoption applications for now — we'll let you know when the time is right!
