Coco / M / 3Y / 13lbs / Terrier mix / Fostered in Owen Sound

Coco has the most expressive face you'll ever see. He pulls human expressions, makes the funniest faces, and has a habit of rolling onto his back when he sleeps or wants a pet.

Coco is a sweet, sleepy guy with low-to-medium energy, and he spends most of his day napping. He isn't the cuddliest dog, but he loves attention and wants to be close to you. He'll follow you around to see where you are, show affection by leaning on you or touching you on the couch, and greet you with playful energy when you get home. At night, he likes to sleep in bed with his people. He's shy with new people at first.

He loves meeting new dogs and has been playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He's also good with cats. His favourite things include treats, mealtime, and long sniffy walks in quiet places.

What he's working on:
- Potty training: He poops outside but is still learning to p*e outdoors and is currently wearing belly bands inside. He doesn't like to p*e while on leash, so a fenced yard is a must.
- Alone time: He's started barking at the door when left alone, so he'll need a gentle routine to help him relax.
- Leash manners: Pretty good overall, he will pull to say hi to other dogs
- Crate time: He's fine in a crate and happily eats in there, but doesn't settle yet.

He's not a fan of big, loud crowds or noises. He would be fine with kids 10+. He will require a dental cleaning (with a few extractions) in the next year.

His ideal home: A family or couple who are home most of the time, with patience and a sense of humour. Coco would do best with a confident dog in the home to show him the ropes. Someone who'll celebrate his progress, build his confidence, and give him the time and routine he needs to thrive.

Hi, I'm Ruckus!

I'm looking for my forever couch cushion, and I'm hoping it's right next to you. I'm happiest when I'm curled up beside my people. Everyone says that if cuddly had a face, it would be mine. I'm an 8-year-old boxer and I weigh about 80 lb. I'm currently hanging out with my foster family near Owen Sound.

I'm affectionate and easygoing, and I love being included in whatever you're doing. Walks, errands, or just hanging out at home, I'm in. I'm even a great car passenger! I'm also a tug-of-war champion, and I'd like to point out that mealtime is the best part of my day.

My energy is pretty well balanced. I like a few fun bursts of zoomies, several cozy naps, and a full night of sleep. I'm calm around the house, but I'm always up for a game.

I'm potty trained, I walk nicely on leash, and I like a good routine. I'll let you know when I need to go out, sometimes by bringing you your own shoe. That's my way of saying "let's go!" I'm a social butterfly with people, and I make new friends fast, especially if there's a treat involved.

While I've been in foster care, I got some important vet care. I had a dental procedure where they removed 21 teeth and some small oral masses, and I'm all healed up and feeling so much better! I also have something called bilateral cruciate disease in my hind legs. After a specialist consultation, the vets decided surgery isn't the right choice for me. Instead, I take daily meloxicam and gabapentin when I need it, and I get around comfortably.

I can get a little reactive to other dogs when I'm on leash, but I've made great progress with training, treats, redirection, and my front-clip harness. I'm working hard on refocusing and recall, and I'm getting better every day.

I'd do best with a calm, patient household where someone is around for much of the day. I like consistency, companionship, and a quieter environment where I can keep building my confidence. I'm great with kids, and I'd love a home without cats. I'm good with other dogs too, as long as we take introductions slowly.

Brookie / F / 3Y / 97lbs / Golden Retriever / Fostered in Paisley

Brookie is a sweet, snuggly girl looking for a foster-to-adopt home, and she is ready to give all her love to the right people. Brookie is scheduled for a spay and a few teeth extractions on December 9th, and her adoption will be finalized after that. Adopters must be able to bring her to our vet clinic in Owen Sound for the appointment.

If you're looking for a cozy companion, Brookie is it. Her favourite thing in the world is relaxing on the couch or the bed with her people. She is cuddly, relaxed, curious, and loving, with a little timid streak at times. She's medium to low energy, so she'll happily go on a long walk if you take her, but she's just as content staying home if you don't. And she's fantastic on the leash, with no pulling at all! She is currently on a weight loss journey.

- Potty trained
- Good with dogs (she's very submissive and easygoing)
- Good with cats
- Good with respectful children
- Doesn't guard anything
- Settles in the car after some initial panting
- Not food motivated at all. We've tried every treat imaginable and she's just not interested!

Brookie can be a little timid meeting new people. She waits politely for them to approach her, then sits with a happy tail wag. She also spooks easily at sudden movements and loud noises, especially on walks, and isn't a fan of doorways or gates. She's not crate trained and doesn't love the crate, but she does well when left for a few hours in a controlled space like a living room. She does have separation anxiety and is currently receiving trazodone when she's left alone. She will try to escape the home to find her people, so she does need a family who is home most of the time and who will continue to work through this with her.

Milo / M / 2Y / 35 lbs / Australian Shepherd / Fostered in Owen Sound

Milo is an energetic, affectionate sweetheart and an ultimate snuggle bug who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Walks, fetch (he could play ALL day!), learning new tricks, splashing around in the water, and cuddling up at the end of the day are some of his favourite things.

Milo’s life changed unexpectedly through no fault of his own, and he’s now looking for a family who will give him the time, patience, and love he deserves. He’s a sensitive boy who is continuing to build his confidence, and he’s making progress every day.

A few things to know about Milo:
- Fully potty trained and crate trained — he settles well after exercise
- An absolute angel in the car
- Loves the water and will happily spend time playing and exploring
- Smart, food- and toy-motivated, and eager to learn
- Has lots of energy and needs plenty of physical and mental exercise
- Strong herding instincts and can react to quick movements from people or objects
- Good with dog-savvy kids
- Affectionate, playful, and an exceptional snuggler
- Best suited to an experienced, active family who understands working breeds

As a true Australian Shepherd, he can be is particularly sensitive to quick movements from people and objects, which can bring out those herding instincts. This is something his forever family will need to continue working on with patience and consistency. He can also be unsure of other dogs’ intentions, although non-reactive on walks, he would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home (also no cats), where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself or be with a very patient companion. He would do best in a house with a yard.

Milo isn’t a “no work required” dog, but he is a “give me a chance and I’ll give you everything” kind of dog. He has so much love to give and will thrive with someone who understands the unique needs of an Aussie and is ready to continue helping him become the confident, happy boy he’s meant to be.
