RVR Sweep
When I posted this video I should have known what would ensue.
So here is the full explanation and hopefully will settle some people’s concerns.

This video is a quick session of a young pup seeing stock for the first time. This allows us to see what their natural tendencies are and helps us determine the best approach once they are old enough for training and what the best career path for them will be.
Not all jobs in the stock dog world are just “flank and steer light stock”. Some jobs require a dog that has a high degree of desire and the tenacity to move mountains (so to speak). Anyone who knows dogs knows they aren’t all cut out for the same jobs. In my opinion knowing the core of a dog allows us to gear it toward the best career. I find it very unfair to a dog to put it in a position to live a life and do a job it was not created with the tools to do.
So… this is one step in helping us find the best path and job position for every dog that we breed and raise and determine if they have the tools we require.
Our sheep are well cared for, never harmed and if you feel this is abuse then I have no more words for you! Go ahead and scroll by or unfollow please!
I do not enjoy social media banter, have had very capable mentors over the years that I have been working with dogs. Those mentors live a similar lifestyle and have the same needs for their dogs.
Hopefully that sheds some light on the video and what it was intended to be.
