🐾 We’re Staying! ❤️

We’ve seen some of the conversations happening recently about changes coming to our plaza, and we know some of you have been wondering what this means for Touch of a Paw Spa.

We want to put your minds at ease: we are staying right where we are! 🐶🐱🐰

The building has a new owner, and while we’ve spent the past few weeks carefully considering our options and what would be best for our clients, our team and the future of the spa, we’re happy to say that Touch Of A Paw Spa will continue to serve our wonderful clients from our current location.

And there’s even more to look forward to. ❤️

We have plans to make improvements to our spa so we can continue growing, evolving and providing an even better experience for the pets and families who trust us with their beloved companions.

After more than 16 years of serving our community, we’re not going anywhere. In fact, we’re looking forward to what comes next!

Thank you to every client who has supported us, trusted us and grown with us over the years. Your loyalty means more to us than you know.

❤️🐾 Oshawa, we honestly don't know what to say… except THANK YOU. 🐾❤️
Something unexpected happened this week...

A conversation about the cost of professional dog grooming was posted on a local Oshawa community page. We responded because we felt it was important that, when a concern about our business was shared publicly, we should also have the opportunity to explain what we do, what goes into our services, and why we price them the way we do.

What happened afterward completely caught us by surprise!!!

Hundreds of people took the time to share their own experiences with Touch Of A Paw Spa.

People we have known for years.
People who have trusted us with their dogs for a decade or more.
People who have watched us grow.
And even people who had never heard of us before, but told us that after reading the conversation and seeing how we handled ourselves, they would like to give us a try.

We have now seen more than 400 reactions and over 170 comments, and the overwhelming majority have been incredibly kind, supportive and generous.

But what touched us most wasn't simply the number of likes.

It was what people said.

They talked about trusting us with their beloved dogs.
They talked about the care their pets receive.
They talked about our groomers.
They talked about the quality of our work.
They talked about feeling like their pets are treated as family.

And some people reminded us of something that is easy to forget when you're busy working every day:

We are incredibly fortunate to have built something that people genuinely care about.

Touch of a Paw Spa started as a small local business in 2010.

Sixteen years later, we're still here—still learning, still investing in our team, still improving our products and services, still supporting Canadian suppliers and manufacturers, and still doing what we have always believed professional pet grooming should be about:

Safety.
Skill.
Quality.
Compassion.
And treating every animal in our care with the respect and love they deserve.

We don't expect everyone to choose us. We understand that grooming prices vary, and every family has a different budget and different needs.

Today is a special day at Touch Of A Paw Spa!
Many of you know our super-amazing Michelle, who has been welcoming our clients and keeping everything running smoothly for so many years. Well... before she headed off on her well-deserved summer vacation, she spent the past month training someone very special.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to... Michelle! 😊
That's right—we now have TWO Michelles! We figured if one Michelle has been amazing, having another one can only be a good thing!

Today marks Michelle's very first day running the front desk on her own after a full month of training with Donna and Michelle, and we couldn't be more excited to have her as part of our family.

Michelle joins us with a background as a Personal Support Assistant (PSA), bringing exceptional patience, compassion, attention to detail, and a calm, caring approach to every interaction. Those qualities make an incredible difference—not only when helping our clients, but also when welcoming pets and ensuring every visit begins with kindness, patience, and understanding.

💜 A Bittersweet Goodbye to Our Meredith 💜 Last Thursday, we celebrated and sent off someone who has been such an important part of the Touch Of A Paw Spa family.

Since joining our team on June 23, 2022, Meredith Row has touched the lives of so many pets and their families with her incredible talent, gentle hands, and unwavering dedication to her work. She has always approached every groom with kindness, and an attention to detail that made every pet in her care look and feel their very best.

As many of you know, family means everything to Meredith. A new chapter is beginning for her family, and due to a move that will take her too far away to continue with us, she has made the difficult decision to leave Touch of a Paw Spa.

While our hearts are heavy, we are also incredibly happy for Meredith and wish her nothing but success, happiness, and wonderful new adventures ahead. We are so grateful for the laughter, friendship, and love she brought to our salon over the past four years. She wasn't just a team member—she became family.

Meredith, thank you for every early morning, every late evening, every wagging tail, every cuddle, and every pet you treated as if they were your own. You have left paw prints on all of our hearts, and our doors will always be open should life ever bring you back our way. ❤️

To all of Meredith's wonderful clients, we know this change may feel emotional and perhaps a little unsettling. Please know that your beloved pets will continue to receive the same care, compassion, and quality you have come to expect.
