TopDog's Mutt-e-Ssori We are Orillia's premium dog daycare and enrichment center The concept of TopDog began over 25 years ago with Kathy Currie-Eyers' dream.

She dreamt of creating a caring, learning environment for dogs. A place they could go and learn skills that would make them valued members of their families and keep them in their forever homes. With science based training, positive reinforcement and ongoing education, we have helped hundreds of dogs work through various behavioral issues, and develop deeper, happier relationships with their peopl

e. That dream became a facility in 2005, with the opening of our first location in Barrie. Since then the TopDog brand has excelled, winning multiple awards such as Barrie's Best Facility. Along with Readers Choice awards under categories of Training, Daycare and Grooming. Most recently they were honored with the Consumer's Choice award. Over the years we begin researching enrichment for dogs. That's when Topdog's Mutt-e-Ssori was born! We are a premium doggie enrichment and training facility where dog's can come to play, exercise, and learn while you work! We offer enrichment daycare, daycare based training programs, as well as group classes and individualized training and in home overnight care. We also work with our sister location in Barrie to offer full pet care services including grooming and overnight care.

We also operate Just-n-Time Rescue which is a small but loving all-breed dog (and the occasional cat) rescue that operates out of TopDog in Barrie. Since conception, Just-n-Time has helped save many dogs from euthanasia and even more find the right furever home.

There’s something really special about new beginnings at TopDogs — new friendships forming, confidence growing, and personalities starting to shine. 💚 Today, we’re excited to welcome some new (and very loved returning) faces into the pack!

🐶 Bandit • 7-month-old Border Collie
Bandit is a bright, busy young boy with that classic Border Collie spark — curious, clever, and always ready to learn. He’s joining us for safe socialization and positive tutoring to help build confidence, settle into new experiences, and channel all that brainpower into calm, positive learning. We can’t wait to watch him grow. ✨

🐾 Whisper • 1-year-old Pug
Whisper may be small, but he’s got a big heart and a gentle spirit. As Popcorn’s sibling, he’s starting short, supportive social sessions to help him feel safe, confident, and comfortable around other dogs. Our focus is on keeping things easy, positive, and pressure-free so his confidence can quietly blossom. 🌸

🌭 Welcome back, Popcorn!
Our little Wiener Dog Popcorn — Whisper’s sibling — is back, and it’s like he never left! 🥹💚 After some time away, he returned for enrichment daycare and socialization, and his reaction said it all: pure joy, instant comfort, and tail wags all around. It’s always special seeing a dog step back into their “happy place.”

🐶 Otis • 10-month-old American Bulldog
Otis is a big-hearted young guy still learning the world of dog communication and play. He’s joining us for safe socialization and structured learning around body language, boundaries, and appropriate play skills. We’ll be taking things step by step with short, successful sessions to set him up for confidence and success. 💪🐾

Every dog who walks through our doors brings their own story, personality, and journey — and we feel so lucky to be part of it. 💚

Happy Birthday to the one and only Alley! 🥳🐾

Funny, quirky, hardworking, and a total dog lover… you’re one of those people I know I can always count on when things get hectic. Whether you’re caring for animals at the SPCA or running around with the pack at TopDog, you give it your all.

You left us for a little while, but let’s be honest… you just couldn’t stay away from all our slobbery faces. 😉 We’re so glad you’re back where you belong.

A reliable recall isn’t built by simply teaching a dog to run when called… it’s built by teaching them to think first. 🐾

Louis worked through a huge impulse control challenge today: holding his position while we moved away, disappeared behind a truck, added silly movements, jumping jacks, clapping, bending down, and even a bike riding past.

Then came the big moment… the recall.

And Louis showed up with speed, enthusiasm, and a beautiful B-line (with gusto!). 💚

This is what real-world training looks like: building a dog who can handle distractions, make good choices, and still know that coming back to their person is the best option.

🐾 Welcome to TopDog’s Muttessori, Jackson, Norman & Echo! 🐾

Our newest learners are stepping through the doors with their own unique goals, personalities, and paws to fill. 🐶💚

Meet Jackson, a 15-week-old mini poodle who is beginning his puppy socialization journey with us before moving into our Pawsitive Tutoring program. We’re excited to help him build confidence, life skills, and a strong foundation for the future!

Norman, a 1-year-old golden doodle, is working on confidence building and safe, positive socialization experiences to help him feel comfortable navigating the world around him.

Echo, a 1.5-year-old cocker spaniel mix, is joining us to build focus, strengthen engagement, and continue developing those important everyday skills.

Every dog learns differently, and at TopDog’s Muttessori we meet them where they’re at, creating a balance of education, enrichment, and play… all hand in paw. 🐾
