Comfie Cat Shelter Established in 2005, situated in Orillia, Ontario, the Comfie Cat Shelter stands as a beacon of hope for felines in need.

Dedicated to tackling the challenges of overpopulation, abandonment, and neglect, we proudly operate as a no-kill sanctuary for cats. The Comfie Cat Shelter is a no-kill shelter founded in 2005 to address the issue of the over population of abandoned cats. The shelter was established because the number of cats being abandoned or neglected is increasing every year. The members/volunteers of The Com

fie Cat Shelter believe in helping cats in need. If accepted, cats surrendered by their owners must be defleaed and vaccinated. Cats that have been rescued or accepted from people who are no longer able to care for them, are given veterinary care and medication when required. Cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Kittens too young to be spayed/neutered come with a $50 certificate to be refunded when proof of spay/neuter is shown. Until recently all of the cats were kept in foster homes until permanent homes could be found for them. The foster homes are screened for their ability to give quality care and a loving environment to the cats or kittens. While we continue to use foster homes when needed, we now have a location at 112 Norweld Drive. in Orillia and we invite the public to make an appointment at (705) 326-1545 to visit and meet the cats for adoption.

We want to send a massive, heartfelt thank you to Johnston Farm & Building Centre for this incredible donation of Catit goodies! Thanks to their amazing generosity, our residents are getting a major upgrade to their daily routines.

From interactive Senses wellness centre and multi-feeders to keep their minds sharp, to new placemats and fresh fountain filters, our cats are living the absolute dream while they wait for their forever homes.

We are so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful local partners who step up to support our mission and keep our kitties happy, healthy, and thoroughly entertained. Please join us in thanking Johnston Farm and Building Centre for their kindness! ❤️

🐾 Meet Shadow & Storm 🐾

Born in July 2021, Shadow (female) and Storm (male) are a beautiful pair of siblings who are completely devoted to one another. They are currently looking for a very special, understanding forever home together, as they are a bonded pair who rely on each other for comfort and security. 🖤🌪️

Life is a little overwhelming for Shadow and Storm right now, and they are understandably very scared in the shelter environment. They are timid, observant, and exceptionally cautious around people. At this stage in their journey, they are not comfortable being held or pet. However, it is important to know that they are completely non-aggressive souls. They don't even hide away in the shadows; instead, they prefer to sit out in the open, quietly watching the world go by while making sure to stay just out of arm's reach. 🥺👀

Because they are so sensitive to their surroundings, Shadow and Storm strictly require an adult-only home. They desperately need a quiet, patient, and low-traffic environment where they can decompress at their own pace. They are looking for a special human hero, someone who understands feline body language, has no expectations for immediate cuddles, and is truly willing to help them slowly discover their safe place. 🏡🛋️

With time, safety, and a predictable routine, watching these two silent observers slowly blossom and learn to trust will be the ultimate reward.

🐾 Savouring the Sunshine: Happy Tails! 🐾

This week we are absolutely delighted to announce that Cardamon, Ginny, Misty, and Sunny have all found their furever homes! 🎉❤️

From spicy and playful personalities to the gentlest snuggle bugs, each of these four wonderful cats has officially found a family to love them and a cozy place to call their own. 🏡🐱💖 We couldn’t be happier to see them trade their shelter suites for warm laps and sunny windowsills as they start their next chapters filled with comfort and joy.

New week, new chances to fall in love! 😻 Our adorable cats and kittens are settled in at PetSmart Orillia and are looking forward to meeting their future families. If you have been thinking about adopting, come stop by and spend some time with our sweet residents.

Our wonderful volunteers will be available during the hours listed in the graphic to introduce you to the kitties, share details about their personalities, and help you with the adoption process. 💕

🐾 Meet Cayenne 🐾

Cayenne, born June 2022, is a beautiful girl who loves her space and sunshine! 🌞 She’s not a fan of too much attention or messing with her sleek, gorgeous fur, so admiration from afar is the way to go! 💅✨

Cayenne prefers to relax on her own rather than cuddle with humans, though she’ll tolerate the occasional pat (but don’t expect it to last long). She’s not aggressive, just a bit independent and enjoys her peace and quiet. 🧘‍♀️ She will need a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time, Cayenne isn’t the type to be overly affectionate, and she’ll appreciate a calm, non-pushy environment. 💖

She doesn’t mind other cats and is content to let them be around her as long as they respect her space, but don’t expect her to be a cuddly companion. 🐾 Cayenne hasn’t been tested with dogs, so we’re unsure how she’d react, but her calm and independent nature suggests she’d likely do best in a dog-free home. 🐕

If you’re looking for a quiet, low-maintenance cat who values her independence, Cayenne might be the perfect match for you. 🌟

Black cats are unfortunately adopted less often than other cats, largely because of old superstitions, but these beautiful cats are just as loving, playful, and deserving of a family. 🐈‍⬛💕

🐾 Meet Vivian! 🐾

Vivian is a stunning black cat born in August 2023, and she is looking for someone to offer her quiet, patient love. 🖤 While she started out very shy, Vivian has been coming a long way and is getting much more social as of late! In fact, she has finally found her "purr" and is happily letting volunteers give her pats now. 🥰✨

This sweet girl is a true "cat's cat" who absolutely thrives when she is with another friendly kitty. She relies on her feline friends for confidence; when she is on her own, she tends to retreat back into her super timid self. Because of this, she very likely would not do well in a house as an only pet. Having a feline buddy brings out her brave side, she will even let people pet her if they are already petting one of her friends! 🐈🤝

Once she is comfortable, Vivian loves to receive pats along her back. She can start to get a bit overstimulated after you pet her for a while, and she'll let you know by swinging her tail, but she is a gentle soul who doesn't smack or bite. She would thrive in a home with friendly, gentle cats, loves treats, and will definitely feel overwhelmed around dogs. If you have a peaceful, and the patience to watch this sweet kitty continue to blossom, Vivian is ready to show you just how rewarding her companionship can be. 💕🏡

🌟 Look who is waiting for their new furever homes!! 🌟

Are you looking to add a little extra joy, love, or wrestling champion energy to your life? Look no further! This adorable crew of siblings is officially ready to find their forever homes. While they each have their own unique personalities, they all share one thing in common: they are super curious about dogs, but need a calm and gentle pup who won't scare them with too much excitement! 🐶🤝🐈

Here is the lineup of this incredible bunch:

💨 BREEZE: Our independent lady! Breeze likes to take her time warming up and isn't a big fan of being held, but once she knows you, she will actively seek you out for pets and butt scritches. She is a high-speed toy chaser who loves wrestling with her brothers and gives just as good as she gets!

☁️ BUN: Just about the sweetest little poofball you'll ever meet! Bun is a dedicated lap cat who must be sitting on you the exact second you sit down. She loves to climb and play with toys, and while she isn't as obsessed with wrestling as her brothers, she can absolutely hold her own when needed!

🐦 ROBIN: The serious "little man" of the group. Robin has a wonderfully mature soul and can often be found enjoying a quiet nap in his own peaceful corner. But don't let his serious face fool you, when the notion strikes him, he will jump right into the fun to run and wrestle with the rest of the crew!

💦 PUDDLE: The ultimate little rough-houser! Puddle loves to engage his siblings in wrestling matches (ready or not!). He is full of energy and needs a family to keep him busy, but he is a massive softie who starts purring like a motorboat before you even give him his first pet.

🌱 SPROUT: He might look like a giant, fluffy dust bunny, but he’s actually a pro wrestler in disguise! Sprout loves running at top kitten-speed and wrestling with Puddle. Once his energy is spent, he transforms into a total cuddle bug who loves to tuck himself into a cozy bed with his siblings.
